Ride the Lightening, I guess, but I'm not much of an authority on thrash. Other good ones are Reign in Blood and Seven Churches. And The Misfits Earth A.D., though not technicaly thrash was very influential and a freaking great album.
reigh in blood master of puppets kill em all And the second anthrax album( I forget it's name) Peace sells
My favourite would surely be Master Of Puppets... but that's just because I'm more into Metallica than I am into Slayer, Anthrax or Megadeth. Slayer's debut album (forgot the name) and Reign In Blood are awesome.. and even Megadeth's 'Countdown To Extinction'. Countdown To Extinction and ...And Justice For All are probably the most complex thrash metal albums in terms of song structures as well as lyrical themes.
Killing is my business.....and business is good by Megadeth Mustaine invented thrash metal in my opinion.
Does anybody here know the album Pentagram prayer by Bewitched? If you like Kill 'em all and speed/thrash metal check it out. It's not outstanding good but it has something pure and rock 'n roll about it. It also has some black and speed metal influences on it. Thrash fanatics surely will like it.
Hey i'm a huge fan of Slayer! And i love Megadeth and Testament. But Metallica still rocks out on this issue with Master of Puppets no doubt! Even though i like And Justice For All more lol
Not much into thrash metal... I'd nominate 'Cold steel... for an iron age' by Deströyer 666, an Australian hybrid between thrash, death and black metal. For pure thrash, probably 'Endless pain' by Kreator. Viscious, old-school and still slightly retarded in comparison to later albums (moronic lyrics, lovely German accent...). I like that. Casting a spell Lord of all hells Tooooormentooooor!!
Either Peace Sells or Kill Em All. I really don't consider Master to be all that thrash metal, it has an element of thrash, but, to me it's not as much thrash as Kill Em or PS. Metallica's Justice album is deffinetly not much of Thrash so, you know.
I don't agree.. although others may disagree I think it's a matter of opinion and how you define something. For example, is Led Zeppelin heavy metal? Many people think so, because they played a huge role in the development of heavy metal. And back in their time they were in fact often called a heavy metal band along with the likes of Deep Purple, although the term 'heavy metal' carried a very different meaning in the '80s and after.
I'd put Megadeth - Rust in peace and Sepultura - Arise up there. I'm not always sure whether to class Slayer as thrash, they are almost a genre unto themselves. A early death black metal thrash thing going on.
i don't know where you got black metal for Slayer from. If i had to classify Slayer i would call them Death-Thrash metal. And i'm adding The Crown - Crowned in Thorns as my favourite thrash album, even though they're as much death as thrash, the sheer energy of it makes me want to headbang untill i pass out.
