    Hello

I've been thinking for a while now about compiling a cd with the best rock pianist/keyboard players.
it would have names on it like
    the doors,
    deep purple,
    ELP,
    Pink floyd,
    steppen wolf,
    iron butterfly,
etc etc, but wich tracks would you segest?

    btw
does any one know of John "Rabbit" Bundrick? He did some sessions for Bob Marley! ( and does an excelent backing for The Who.

no no wait, i'm looking for tracks not albums;)
yeah John pual johnes, Brian May, Pete Townshend, Ray Charles, supertramp the list goes on and on you know?:)
if you could just name a band and 3 or 4 track that really put the keyman in the spot light that would be great.

[edit] oh wait you did mention a track...eek sorry!

Rick Wright of Pink Floyd is so tragically underrated as a great Organ/Piano player

His bright, shining moment is "Great Gig in the Sky" from Dark Side, but also I'd get
"Embryo" from the Works compilation, and "Mudmen" from the Obscured by Clouds album

There is a song called "Hear Me Lord" from George Harrison's solo All Things Must Pass album, which has amazingly beautiful piano done by one of these four people (Gary Wright, Bobby Whitlock, Billy Preston, Gary Brooker......a lot of people played on this album, so I'm not exactly sure which person it was)

Of course the Piano bit from Derek and the Dominoes "Layla"

The Piano on The Who's "Love Reign O'er Me" is amazing and tear-bringing.

I'll probably think of more later, but those are all pretty sweet.

    ~Layla

    T-Monk - any
Jimmy Smith - generic name, amazing keys player
Nicky Hopkins - RollingStones piano - Midnite Rambler would be my suggestion
    Fats Domino -any
    Jerry Lee Lewis -any
Don Airey - Ozzy/Deep Purple - MrCrowley and others
Jon Lord - Deep Purple - Lazy, my suggestion
    Meade "Lux" Lewis - any
Keith Emerson - any (I suggest Who Are You from black sabbath's Sabbath Bloody Sabbath album)

im sure there are a ton more!
