Fucking hell...today about 1:30-ish, I was helping make a cherry limeade for a customer and I was putting the cherry jar back in the little "fridge" we keep it in, when I hear this "POP!", my world goes black, and it's like my whole body just seizes. The fucking dumbass motherfucking maintenance DICKHOLE didn't believe us when we said there were electrical problems with that whole goddamned treat table, people have gotten mild shocks from it previously (similar to static electricity, not much more than that). What happened was there were two EXPOSED wires grounded by two screws in that same little area I put the cherries, and the metal lid on the top of the jar touched the screws and shocked the fucking shit out of me. My back has been giving me shit for the past few days, as I already whined in a previous thread, and that certainly didn't help it. So I ended up leaving early, but refusing medical care (gee, I wonder why? ). I'm pissed off, though, that's SO dangerous and I know for a fact when I get there in the morning, that's still going to be exposed to shock someone else.
(972) 850-4145 OSHA Texas. Please Call tomorrow before you head to work. Don't let anyone else get shocked.
lode beat me to it. thats unacceptable. especially if the maintenance person looked over it or ignored the complaints. negligence
Well, I can't sue because I'd fail a piss test, lol. I don't know that I'll call BEFORE I go to work because we filled out an accident report and called the district manager and head of maintenance for the whole company (the CEO's brother, in fact), so we'll see if it's fixed in the morning.
Ehh... you could get clean quick and sue. Do they really drug test you for a lawsuit? Shit's crazy. Gettin' clean in a day is possible though, I've had plenty of friends who pulled it off. Won't ever go to court... nice way to have the corporation give ya some money though... Even though it might be a tad immoral or whatever.
And If they discover who called OSHA, here's the address and phone number for the Amarillo unemployment office; 2505 Lakeview Dr, Amarillo, TX</SPAN> (806) 358-7481 Hotwater
Hope you feel better Amanda. And call! It's really important that you do. I dunno what kinda amps one of those things puts off, but you really don't want one of your coworkers to get really hurt from that thing.
I have some insulating gloves up there for when I filter grease, so tomorrow I'm going to get the cherries out of that little cabinet because that's the only thing we have in there (unless they're smart enough to move them tonight, which I highly doubt...maybe I'll text my friend that's on shift and ask him to do that before he leaves). Then no one will have any reason to reach in there for anything. And hotwater, no worries of getting fired over calling OSHA, there are some hardcore labor laws against that, so sayeth a poster in our back office.
You think the people at OSHA are going to say that 'Yeah, this chick called in." If they fire her, that's so much richer grounds for a lot of compensation. She should hope they fire her.
do you work at sonic? i worked there for about a year and a half after high school. yeah definitely call OSHA... but if they shut down the store THEN you might have to look for a new job
My Celtics rule The NBA World and will do so for a thousand years ........... followed by the usual.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRucTzBR1qo&feature=related Hotwater
