I asked the google ai the question below after searching the title of some of the threads and nothing shows up. I figured Marjorie Taylor Greene & Cohorts is unique enough with the & in it.

    My question:

Why does google suck so bad now, the thread "Marjorie Taylor Greene & Cohorts" on hip forums here Marjorie Taylor Greene & Cohorts does not show up on searches even though nothing else online has the title Marjorie Taylor Greene & Cohorts ? Google fucking sucks now, why ?

    Its Answer:

Many users have expressed frustration with the declining quality of Google Search in early 2026, citing an increase in ads, AI-generated "slop," and the sudden disappearance of niche forum content from results.
The specific absence of your "Marjorie Taylor Greene & Cohorts" thread on hipforums.com is likely due to major algorithmic shifts that occurred throughout 2025 and into 2026.

Why the Hip Forums Thread is Missing
    • The 2025 "Forum Purge": A major Google core update in March 2025 specifically targeted user-generated content and "low-quality forum content". While massive platforms like Reddit and Quora gained visibility, many smaller, older, or less "authoritative" forums saw dramatic drops or were entirely filtered out of search results.
    • December 2025 Core Update: This update—the most recent and volatile of 2025—reinforced a shift toward E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness). Google now prioritizes content from "recognized experts" or high-authority news sites for political topics. General forum discussions that lack these formal authority signals are often demoted or omitted to prioritize "satisfying content" as defined by Google's current standards.
    • Retrieval vs. Ranking: By 2026, Google has shifted from a traditional "index and rank" model to a "retrieval-focused" system. This means Google's AI often chooses a single "best" answer (frequently an AI Overview) and hides everything else it considers redundant or "low-value," even if the specific title matches your search.

How to Force the Result to Show Up
If Google is "hiding" the result, you can often bypass its filters using specific search operators:
    • Site-Specific Search: Type site:hipforums.com "Marjorie Taylor Greene & Cohorts" directly into the search bar. This forces Google to only show results from that domain.
    • Verbatim Search: In the "Tools" menu on the Google results page, change "All results" to "Verbatim." This stops Google from using AI to "interpret" your query and forces it to look for those exact words.
    • Alternative Search Engines: Many users are switching to DuckDuckGo or Mojeek, which do not use the same "helpfulness" filters that often bury niche forum threads.

    Common Technical Reasons for Invisibility
If the thread is missing even with a site: search, the issue may be on the forum's side:
    • Noindex Tags: The forum administrator may have accidentally applied a "noindex" tag, which tells Google explicitly not to list that page.
    • Robots.txt Blocking: A recent change to the site's robots.txt file could be preventing Google's crawlers from "seeing" the content.
    • SafeSearch Filtering: If the thread contains language Google deems explicit or "sensitive," it may be hidden if your SafeSearch is on

Um, in case you don't know, when you search Google using an expression with multiple words, to get an exact result, you must add the quotes on either end.

    "Marjorie Taylor Greene & Cohorts"

The forums do come up. That's why it's important to put the exact subject in the title so it can be indexed in the search engines and AI.

Btw, the Hipforums been around a lot longer than reddit by 9 years.

It seems we get authority from Google if it concerns sex, lol!

Oh and reddit originally stole a lot of content from our forums in the old days when they were starting and needed interesting topics for convos.

Google has destroyed many websites, just as Walmart has destroyed neighborhood businesses.

    Un
Unless the site has a contract with Google Ads, searching for a site on Google is like buying a lottery ticket.
AI has simply made things worse.
