Anyone know any good ways to clean a pipe and get some good useable rez? Other than just taking it apart and scraping it I've tried the hot water method and that was pretty much useless. Any help would be appreciated as I am out of weed
Get some rubbing alcohol and soak your pipe in it, overnight would be good. Then you can just scrape it out with a toothpic, what's left after washing it out. Make sure you wash it thoroughly to get all the alcohol out. You could probably let the alcohol evaporate and get something from it.
Or just boil up some water and put you piece in there. Will not work as well as rubbing alchohol though.
"How to clean a pipe" is like not knowing a simple way to make oil! OKay, you can do this with roach papers, pipes, bong bowls, grinders... anything that WON'T dissolve in alcohol (acrylic WILL break down and eventually dissolve in alcohol, so don't do it). Take whatever you have. Pour some iso (alcohol) into a jar - 90% or more works best, but you usually have to be 18+ and/or ask at the pharmacy counter for it. Close the lid and if you don't have anything glass (or easily breakable) in there, shake it a bit. If it's glass or breakable, just let it soak for a while. Take the items out of the jar. Use an elastic to put a filter over the top (pantyhose/stockings, coffee filter, whatever) and strain the alcohol into a PYREX dish. Put it on a burner and turn it on, make sure you watch it so your oil doesn't burn. Let it steam away all of the alcohol, and you're left with oil - usually thick and dark brown/black if it's made from resin. You can do it with small amounts of shake (that's what we call the trimmings from the actual plant) or shitty weed, and it works the same, but usually comes out a bit lighter in colour and not as thick. And when you smoke oil, it's best to either hotknife it (using a paperclip or something to get the oil out of whatever it's in) or ash into a bowl, drip the oil on top (heat it up if you have to, careful not to burn it away) and smoke your little heart out. And like 'theshaman' said, you can just let the alcohol evaporate, but your oil will taste like shit. Err, actually, kinda like fish.
dude i tried to get some res off my slide a couple months ago and the stick i was using broke and got stuck in it. then i tried to get it out with something metal and i broke it. that was a shitty night
leave it in rubbing alcohol, or boil it. you may have to wipe it down with alcohol after its been boiled, it will probably have resin stuck to the outside
