What makes for good trades out in the woods? I think soaring eagle mentioned snickers and cartons in another post...

I have a lot of books to give away or trade, would that work out?

Sorry this is so lame! I am getting more excited all the time.

PS Thanks for the great advice. Monty my love will be staying home.

Some years there has been a Rainbow Library that was delighted to get donations. If the library folks aren't there this year, you might concider having a 'take some thing-leave something' blanket at trade circle. It's also fun to trade for the non-materialistic, like for smiles.

Please don't use coffee or sugar as trade items; if every coffee drinker/sugar user donated one can of coffee & one bag of sugar to their favorite kitchen, then everyone would have coffee & sugar :)

Have fun & spread all good things! [IMG]

most anything, i found you can start with a pile of junk & end up with treasures
i used tou make jewlery & i remember a few trades that were just incredible, i started by trading some of my nicer stones to some kids for a couple pebbles a rubber band a lil silver charm & a couple other odd little things..worthless really, i traded the charm & pebbles (no clue why anyone wanted them) for a roll of ewire i was told was silver, but turned out to be high tension wire which i traded to someone making sa kiln for a bunch of his pipes, i traded the 1 pipe i didnt like so much for 2 drums the clay drum broke the next day 2days later i taded the metal one for the djimbe i have today (if you care about $ vallue it went from maybe 8$ dont to maybe 4 cents & finaly finnishesd at about $150)
the best trades i've found is when your more & more generouse, & keep addeing items to the pile your haggling over..
i lately havent been doing trade circke however cause i wasted far too muvh time therem now i just like to drift through & seewat people have but usualy dont trade much

ok a list of good items flashlights batteries snacks tobaco pipes papers clothes shoes dry socks (but if someone really needs i'd just give em away) books musical things even poems & hugs & stories
whatever you have in your pocket
    lighters
    the shirt off your back
    a favorite peice of jewlery
    hemp
    tools
pretty much anything, if you have it & domt need it, put it out & someone might want it
oh tents sleeping bags (possibly also should fllow the "if tyhey really need it just give it" idea)
    artwork
    silly little whatevers
basicly you get the idea..just about anything is good
    goodnight see you there
    (less then 12 hours till i leave..yay!)

IF only a third of the people who drink coffee brought some it would good,, I have been thinking about uncomman things, and while the old standbys are great, like jewlery making stuff tobacco and smokin untensils, there are a few things that are often in need, (no offence intended to the kitchens) but i after a few days of overcooked rice alot of folks are about ready to chew the nuts offa squirel,
(yes I'm afraid its true, not evryone there is a grazer) so some beef jerky might be a real good idea, also it would be nice if more people brought plastic bags as far as the books go unless there something speciel there also heavy and bulky, so i wouldn't recomend it, you wont need toilet paper either, thats always well covered. that chocolet idea is realy a good one, and so is gummy bears and the like. glow sticks would be cool and highly appreciated.. have fun

chocolate definately melts but stoned hippies dont seem to mind slurping it up & getting all messy
for some reason snickers always seem to be the hot items

just another interesting lil trsde story..i think it was utah..or another state that had a heavy police pressence i saw someone trade a beautiful african cheihtans breastplate thingy for the cheif of police's badge
