In the last two years I have only enjoyed 2-3 new programs. Tv just isn't what it used to be. After Seinfeld went off the air all we get are crappy 2 season sitcoms and reality TV. Two shows that have really impressed me are Monk,Arrested Development, and American Chopper. Does anyone else have any reccomendations?
lol apparently your idea and my idea of what is good are going to be completely different because I don't like one show you mentioned. I must agree though, there isn't much on but crap on anymore. TV rots your brain anyway. The only show that I have always watched and is still on is the Simpsons. That is why when I moved I didn't even bother to get cable. Of course, that might have to change this fall, or I'm just going to have to make arrangements to watch my favorite programs at boyfriend's house. The only shows that I became addicted too, and I have no idea why but I could not go one week without seeing them are American Dreams and the Shield. I also like to watch Bill Maher on HBO, but there is no way I'm paying for HBO just to watch that. Then there are shows that I watch when there is nothing else on: What Not To Wear (its a girl thing), Iron Chef, the OC.
I'm very annoyed at what's happened to the Discovery Channel. American Chopper has some merits, but it's just another reality show, which I hate. They don't talk about the science of motorcycles or anything, they just show the bickering. It's annoying. That and all the home design shows. TLC has the same problem. If I wanted home design I'd watch HDTV! I want some science, dammit! Anyways, that said, I liked That 70's Show until the last season or two where it got really lame. Mainly the only show I watch regularly is 60 Minutes, and Seinfeld reruns when I remember. Then the documentaries I mentioned above. I'm not a big fan of TV. I'm more into books and the internet...mental stimulation.
What the fuck is the internet? I like documentaries as well, but I usually just rent them from the video store, what I like to see, they don't really put on tv.
Whats that other one that comes on discovery, where they have to build the house. And the carpenters and everyone usually fights. And if they get the house done on time, they get new tools. What is that called, its on sometimes after American Chopper.
when i can pull myself away from news channels and discovery/history channels like that, i like to watch Angel.....that show kicks ass, it sux that they cancelled it tho....bunch of fuckin shit........
I recommend "The Simple Life" with Paris and Nicole. It will go into the TV Hall of Fame for years to come.
My mom got a Tivo for her birthday, casue we all hate commercials and bad tv, and I havent seen anything but animated shows for the past year now. Aqua teen, futurama, Simpsons, Sealab, Family Guy all great shows some of the best comedy I have ever seen created to date.
