I am "Poor Old Dad"'s oldest son. He too has a health problem that will keep him away for a while. Possible colon cancer. He asked me to post this to let his friends know he'll be back ASAP...

I told him about "Woodenfrog" and he asked me to say, "I'm with you in spirit, my brother.
    Thank you

    Poor Old Dad's Oldest,

This is Woodenfrog's wife, Pearl. I told him about POD's illness, Frog is saddened and told me to tell you this... "I am also with you in spirit, my brother. Not sure what's in the air right now but the sky's going to clear. Looks like we're both laid up. You're a great friend, I love you and I hope you get better soon. Don't worry about me, I got a grip on it. Sending you sunshine, my brother."

I hope I got it all. Please relay that message and give your dad a hug.

    Peace and Love,
    Pearl

Life is a rollercoaster and I have had some of the down hill part lately. Since 1960, just about every two years I've worked on or with political campaigns. Some times for or against candidates & some times for or against ballot issues. Well, I guess I'm getting too damn old to spread myself so thin (that's what the doctors at the VA hospital ended up saying). Got to feeling bad, went to local doctor, tested positive for possible colon cancer, a week or so in VA hospital, more tests and other torture than I could have imagined ... bottom line is looks like no cancer and actually considering all I've been through & done & not done & family history etc., etc., I'm not too bad off. In fact, it turns out that quitting smoking (cigarettes), eating even healthier & exercising even more I had been plus loosing 36 pounds in the past 25 months have done me some good, but not enough to overcome the combination of advancing age and spreading self so thin.

Thanks to my son for letting folks know. Thanks to everyone's good wishs. Thanks to
Woodenfrog and Pearl. Pearl, how's he doing?

    Peace,
    poor_old_dad

    POD,

Happy news about coming out clean! Keep up with the healthy living and you'll be doing fine. Sometimes it is a matter of stepping back from a few things to look at the big picture. As important as all of the things it sounds like you were involved in are, it's just as important to take care of self. That way you are more able to help with a clearer mind and body. Quality over quantity is not just a cliche. Glad to hear you're doing well, we were worried.

Woodenfrog's doing good. He's looking healthy again and his entire attitude and aura is bright and shiny. It's like getting to know a husband I've never met and it's wonderful! He's supposed to be out in the next couple days from inpatient and sends his best wishes to you.

    Peace & Love,
    Pearl

    Pearl,
wooden frogs been my friend here also, much love and good vibes to my brother and his....

I will try my best to be more inclusive,
And to you POD. I will try and call you soon.

Gardening seems to be such a beautiful thread to keep us interwoven.

The snow has hit here, but thoughts move forward to the next season.
And I recieved a beautiful mai message from POS today, he is doing so well.
we shall all be in dirt splendore in the spring.

would it be so much to ask, that if the shit does start to fal...we would be brought together on a common path??
perhaps not, in the meantime, plan ahead. And the fruits of our labor will abound.
a new huge freezer is in my path.
I will ask for a blessing for all of you. Gosh never realizeed why the Fiber 1 is so important....

    Poor old Dad

I am so glad to hear that the scare is off. I have read your input in the gardening section with great interest. Like you I have also been tested recently for nasties in the gut so I know what you've been through and it is really scary. Like you too, I was told to ease up - been taking on too much. Sometimes the things we deal with make us angry, especially the campaigning as so often we are dealing with people who don't care no matter what. In the end we hold this anger in our gut, even though we seem to be at peace.

About a year ago I discovered a form of meditation called Symbol Therapy. Not enough room but it was developed by a therapist called Ulli Springett. She wrote a book about how to practice Symbol Therapy out on Piatkus, so you should be able to get it from a library. I have found it really helpful, and I am a Complementary Health Practitioner.

Delegate as much as possible and get back in your garden! That in itself is wonderful creative medicine.

Sending you much positive energy, love, blessings and a big hug

    Sea Breeze
