Looking for good books to buy for their chemical recipes, procedures, reliability, etc. Hoping to find some books that will help, I understand that you will for most need some knowledge of chemistry to understand and reproduce what is written that is for me to handle. Really just want some books that are real recipes and would be suggested to buy if one was interested in being verse with chemicals for some reason. So far have noted Pihkal and Tihkal but hope there is more atleast.

you should check out www.erowid.com they have a library section and often synthesis links for many different psychoactives.

Uncle fester has some good books and recently released an 8th edition of Secrets of Methamphetamine Manufacture. I'd recommend buying that as well as Advanced Techniques of Clandestine Psychedelic & Amphetamine Manufacture as they seem to cross reference each other a lot.
Clandestine drug manufacture is becoming more and more difficult but Fester gives a lot of info in his books to make it possible for old timers and beginners alike to get away with at least a little bit

Uncle Fester's a fraud and a death merchant.

There's ONE book that, to this day says it all--

Psychdelic Chemistry by Micheal Valentine Smith.
Published circa 1980, it's where most of the "new" R.C.' s came from.
It's a chemistry book, not a bogus kill-yourself-following-the BS recipes like Uncle Fester's garbage.

    Cau you say LOOMPANICS?

I would agree that some of the things I read that have been attributed to Uncle Fester seems to be good ways to either poison yourself or set yourself on fire, or both. Especially the LSD and meth ones. I haven't actually held his books in my hands though, so it might not be the same as what I've read online.

Mr. Fester may be some kind of chemist, but his methods are dated and it is obvious he isn't specialized in organic chemistry.

fester is a joke in the drugs world, but he did know how to make meth. His TMA synth was ropey.

He got so poor in the end he had to lie about how bullets work and dropped as low as writing books on how to people kill with a knife as it became public his synths couldn't possibly work.

Erowid usually just reference hive and rhodium archives which carefully had the real information taken out before archiving, something the community is still very sore about today. They do not work. Those that wrote the ones that do are angry and the information is coming out slowly, you won;t find it in books though, no-one who really knows is silly enough to make it that public.

Even Strike's famous synth doesn't work, it has an obvious "persian rug" error, but it does give good advice on the textbook mentioned above. The error is there for a good reason. Another stage in unstable, but the chemist who wrote it more talented than to suggest it.

i don't back the "Psychdelic Chemistry by Micheal Valentine Smith", lots of theoretical musings and partial truths, lots of the info is copy pasta, certainly not the bible it purported to be.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Shulgin's books.
