I need anime movie recommendations. I've seen most of the well known movies like Ninja Scroll, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed. Ideally I'd like something in the vein of Perfect Blue, or action ala Ninja Scroll.
Berserk. I've seen my fair share of anime. You have listed a bunch of movies, this a series, but its so feckin good you shouldn't miss out. The animation is old school, and cheap but don't let that turn you off. The story line creeps up on you too, when i saw the first episode i was like hmmmm this looks like crap, but i'm not kidding around, its gotta be the best anime ever. You gotta watch it with subtitles to, don't watch the dub. Also its not one of those anime series that goes on forever and never goes anywhere, there is 25 episodes and that is it.
^ I'd say almost never watch the dubbed version of anything... I'd suggest one of the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, "Tsuiokuhen" or Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (English dub version) but typically, around the internet, simply referred to as the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs it's a lot more serious and dark than the series and a million times better.
since you said akira, I'd recommend "Dead leaves" or "princess Mononoke" both are extremely good, dead leaves is fast paced and will probably leave you breathless. Mononoke is just good.
yea spirited away was one of the few anime movies i like also my favorite is afro samurai and the boondocks
