going to sb

hay all i think imgoing to santa barbara tommorrow with my brother but iam still not sure ... has anyone been?

its like the one big town/city in california that i havent been thats on the coast..

i think anyway.. been to san diego, orange county, la, san fran, santa cruz, SLO, and.. many towns throughout the bay area..


but i've heard its amazing there.

 

ya i live about an hr give-or-take away from sb! i just went on tuesday. it's alright. they have a some neat thrift stores, a couple hemp shops, really good food: indian, thai but i would totally go for Natural Cafe. it's really good & has a lot of vegetarian options. it was originally started in sb. there's a cool, small herb shop nextdoor.

there's a lot of bums/street performers/travelers but not like sf or anything. State St. is supposively the way to go & that's where the resturants, thrift stores are etc.

the thing i don't like is some of the designer stores but i see it as, as long as i don't have to go in everything will be fine. remember there aren't much public restrooms around so use 'em while you can. drink plenty of liquids tho cause it's been kinda muggy lately.

make sure to make a stop at the beach because it's kinda plesant w/ not much waves so it almost feels like a lake. the beach can be found near the end of State St.

north form the beach on State is a great used music store called Morning Glory. there;s a couple good ones but that one has been the cheapest. OOOhhh and there's an outside Indian bizarre w/ tunics & skirts & such.

personally i'd rather just look & experience rather than buy but i hope this is of some use to you! have fun! if i were you i'd splurge on food!

i am so jealous its so pretty there. i have some friends going to UCSC. they are soooo lucky.
