a predicament. i like how you included that as an option. Its a predicament that could have either a negative or positive outcome, depending on how well humans learn to work with instead of against each other and also to work with and not against the earth which provides our resources for us.
Globalization is the current state of evolution of society. It is a process that is especially advanced when it comes to economics and politics but to some extents culture as well. This process started with the trade routes and is nothing new; but the word is used to strike fear in nationalists and conspiracy theorists alike.
Yup, they sure dumbed me down in public school, teaching me all about the Magna Carta, segregation, the Revolutionary war, the Renaissance, and algebra, and calculus, and that mentally-draining chemistry stuff. And don't get me started on how stupid learning about STDs and muscle groups made me in Health... And I'm pretty sure taking Psychology dropped my IQ a good five points... And this mass-media must be made to make us all thoughtless zombies: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=canYgxxHeRg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWOhrQHP2j0"]YouTube - Through the Wormhole: Blackholes
man, you know most media isnt that cool.. the majority of readily available media via tv or radio is total trash. though some local stations around here play some cool stuff you dont find tv at least a little brainwashing? i think globalization has potential to be a great step forward. however, with current world leaders, i think it could turn ugly fast
It comes with a remote, doesn't it? The supply is determined by the demand; the TV that's out is only as good as the audience. We have shows like Bridalplasty and Jersey Shore because we have idiots that will watch it and create ad revenue. If people watched intelligent shows like say.. Rubicon, they would create ad revenue and given the same amount of respect by TV execs as by the audience. But as long as people want crap they are more than happy selling us it.
Problem is a lot of people and at times it feels like everybody, has lost there knowledge that they have the power. The power to support; the companies that so many people disagree with that are becoming global depend on your own money. If you stop buying everything that comes to mind and only the bare essentials that you truly need... well everything would change.
How? I am not disagreeing with you, it just a question that needs to be raised. I can only think of anarchy in this thought. I support it though.
there is nothing wrong with money as long as you are putting it in the right spots... shop at locally owned stores instead of big box stores.. grow your own food.. buy meat through live stock auctions... have a checking/savings through a Credit Union rather than a Big Bank... buy a nice bike that'll last and ride that instead of pumping dollars into the pockets of big oil.. you can't just stop using money.. that's whats making the economy worse.. the government has been trying to stimulate the economy with these stimulus plans and people are just holding on to their money.. not helping the economy at all.. so not spending is not helping... spend.. but spend wisely and spend locally
Problem is that their monetary system with compound interest, fiat money and so on will crash inevitably. We need an alternative currency.
Globalization is generally a good thing, though obviously in any kind of change some people are going to be effected in a negative way.
*some people* youre funny its the vast majority as well as animals and environment which are affected in a negative way by this style globalisation
*complains that most people are being hurt by globalization, fails to see irony in saying this on the world wide web on a personal computer that were made affordable in the 90's by the rise of globalization and international trade*
Tell the 400 million people in China, hundreds of millions in India, and countless numerous other countries that over the past 20 years have been brought out of poverty that globilization is bad.
