well i was up bright and early and no one else seemed to be online on msn trying to get tickets , my sister and nephew have tickets I plan on working the watch towers anyone else going or thinking of .
I'm buying my ticket now, had a panic cos it wouldn't take my card then realised I hadn't put the money in the right account
A wise decision good Jonathan. I'm really missing the Glastonbury towers in much the same way a Vietnam POW would look back at his years spent in a semi-submerged bamboo cage with a certain nostalgic fondness...
well i went back slightly on my wise decision and paid a £50 deposit this was at mid day i looked at the hours and thought i wouldnt see people that much and i can spend time with my sister ......im not sure about this and dont really care about losing £10 so can go back on it and work but the hours seem a lot for that event although heaven for any other . my sister and nephew have tickets but no one else it seems
I was in that tower for 51 hours over the course of Glastonbury and still had more time off than I knew what to do with. Weak ways, good Jonathan. Weak, city ways.
Well you could do unpaid work or paid ,the paid is generally longer hours ,the unpaid like oxfarm might be fun. The towers with green stewards have a great view but your on your own for long periods but its just looking about
I think the Oxfam campaigning is 3 or 4 hour shifts, but most of them are stationed on gates and things checking wristbands and passes, and do longer ones... maybe 6 or 8 hours? Young Matthews would know, he did that last time.
Totally missed the registration date doh! Won't be waiting til the April scrum though now as it leaves me too late to book another festival if I dont get a ticket... on the upside though, it means we'll be going to Big Green Gathering
I'd work the towers, where do I sign Mr Thium? I'll apply now and book the days off work..... I need it. I'd also consider the Oxfam option...where do I sign?! I'll do it all!
Thank goodness, we don't want just any old riff-raff getting in! Last year I was certain that some of the people there were *working class*
Sign up with www.greenstewards.com, unfortunately it's usually organised very short notice, but get on their mailing list and you'll probably get a chance to spend days on end on your own at the top of a metal scaffold *sigh*
