Does anyone here do glass blowing? I've been interested in learning this trade for a long time, but I don't know where to begin. I live in New York and would love to take summer classes. So...anyone...?

would help you if I could... I think it's a cool art too... there was a course offered about a year ago where I live but I couldn't afford to take it at the time. I regret it now...

I live in a very small town called Florida, New York (yes, like the state). I don't know where you're from...but it's around Middletown, Goshen, Chester, Warwick...those towns. That probably doesn't help one bit...lol...

check your local community college, they ussually offer a suprising number of really great classes, and for not much money! They might charge a lab fee, but ussually it's not astronomical.

I really want to learn to blow glass too, but I have yet to find a class out here. good luck, it's such an amazing art!

I teach a glass blowing class, and its alot of fun. I would try a community college, or, go online and search art studios in your area.

If you are able to travel...then there is a class offered at Jacksonville University. JU is the only univ. in the southeastern part of the US with its own glass studio. They also offer summer classes too. Go to JU.org or look up Jacksonville University on google. I hope I helped a little bit. *;)

Isn't glass blowing rough on the lungs? I heard that if you do it for a while it isn't good... Can anyone verify/deny that?
