Ghostbusters is anything but boring.. but i agree Groundhog's Day is classic and so is What About Bob?
I used to get that movie out of the library all the time when I was a kid, no clue how I appreciated a movie like that when I was young; but I haven't gotten around to seeing it since.
You don't even need to know about ghostbusters to realize how good this song is, if you do its just so much better :2thumbsup: "if em thangs, runnin through your head, who ya gonna call" Love it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9We2XsVZfc"]YouTube - Original GhostBusters Theme Song
I cant stand ghostbusters..never liked it even when it was new groundhog day is awesome though..i can watch that over and over and over no problem
So ghostbusters vs. groundhog day? Groundhog day. Ghostbusters is one of those famous movies I've never actually seen, although I was given the collection for christmas once by my older cousin I don't see often. I don't know what we ended up doing with those...
Ghostbusters, the theme song is better than the movie... caddy shack... " sniff sniff, i smell puntang.."
It's ok. It's watchable. The SFX are terrible. The story is mediocre. I'm not quite sure why people love it so much. I guess the idea was new and people liked the actors in it. It was nice to see Winston having a decent career after being the token black man in the movie. I suspect his role will be greatly improved in the new movie.
It's the same with the Indy films. ...or did I lose you there lol... I will like the new GB film and I loved the last Indy film.
I have one I like too, Temple of Doom; so we basically agree. I find that a lot of films like these, people can't explain what is "good" about them at all. Same with shitty music. They just like them cause it's cool to, really. Like fake tans or black people.
I think some films are wildly liked at the time...and if we consider what was out at the time we might have preferred the film too. As time passes the novelty of the film is diminished and generations who missed it at the time remember the endless "best bit" that is endlessly replayed. So they assume the whole film is brilliant. They watch it and wait for the "best bit" ignoring the dross that precedes the "best bit" and follows the "best bit". Not many films hold up past their "best bit"... Do many people know what happens in the film where there is a scene where Lauren Bacall says: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MheNUWyROv8"]YouTube - Lauren Bacall Whistle Is the rest of the film any good? Lol...do you not like black people, then?
But Ghostbusters "best bit" is a fucking giant marshmellow man! That looks like the child of the Pilsbury doughboy and the Michelin man after he joined the navy There's certainly some black people I don't like. I just don't get why every few decades blacks are trendy and then we start treating them sub-human again (see: 20s, 70s). But they might be in luck this time. In America it seems like Latin might become the new race to hate on, and over in Europe it seems to be middle-easterns. But dude, it was just a joke...
