I know neglect is the best way to go, but I am a very impatient person and I'm certain that if I went neglect I would cut them out within a few months. So I was wondering if there is anywhere I can get dreads at. I am going back to Calgary for the summer and I'm hoping a fellow calgarian can help me out and tell me where I can get some dreads, preferably backcombed.

    Thanks in advance!

in a few months of neglect u wouldnt even have dreads.
if u want to backcomb, take a comb and start combing backwards.
    its very easy to do.

@ Seth: Yeah I know, but I mean the messiness of it would piss me off
@ bubbletonic: Yeah I've been researching this for about a year ago. Right after I got my buzzcut :D Thanks for the info.
@ bcmama: Hahaha, I'll keep that in mind thanks.
@ NP: rofl. I literally laughed out loud.

I guess I'm being to vague. Im looking for a salon or some dreadheads or something that can put em in for me. I'm comfortable to do the maintenance, but I don't want to f*** up the start.

do it yourself. just grab small, square-ish sections and comb backwards..... it's easy, I did my own and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to do it honestly. I would look into twist n rip method...

Yeah I feel like an idiot. I was freaking out a bit because I was supposed to have sorted this out about a month ago. My summer has a really weird agenda thing.

Anyway. I just made a test dread with Twist and Rip and it was the easiest shit in the world. Im gonna get some movies and do my whole head this weekend.

Sorry for the noobishness :D and thanks for the offer bcmama.

Salon: I think there's some Jamacian dude downtownish that 'does dreads. Believe he charges over $200

There's some other girl that has a website and charges similar. No clue if she's still doing it 'cause it can be hard to tell with a personal website. Google search brings her up.

I might be able to help. I only charge in joints, bowls and snacks. I do however have some age requirements.

Glad you're probably not going salon route now. I'd be mightily embarrassed myself, if I got salon dreads in Calgary. It's like - Woo, we're in the most tight-assed town in the country, where money's king and Liberal is a dirty word - lets pay out the nose to get a 'liberating' hair. (1 million people only3 strip joints - wft? srly)

Yeah I've convinced a friend to help me section it. Then I'll spend the weekend twisting and ripping.

Thanks for the advice BlazingDervish, I'm not sure what I was thinking. F*** the salon. I'll do it myself. Though I would have gladly paid you in joints and bowls*
