Many gay or bi men and lesbians I've met have religious beliefs.

I'm not religious, but then either way it wouldn't matter. Either I simply die, or I perish in the flames of eternity.

Bi (or rather even Pan) here, and inclined towards the Old Faith as described by the various pagan and wiccan followers... it befits my sexual preference. There is no concept of "sin" connected to love and sexuality in that faith and it celebrates love and life.

    Wiggling pagan toes,

why can't gays and religion live peacefully?

i just don't get it o_O we're all people and we're born this way (well.. at least me). I just hate homophobes because they don't know what's like to be us (us as in gay or by)...

Gay with a full appreciation for things that are spiritual. For this reason I find most aspects of organized religions to be loathsome.

They can, the problem lies in letting someone else tell you what your supposed to belive.

I am a bi transexual, but utterly pagan.

I fully appreciate religion, it gives people peace of mind.

I see no reason why gay people shouldn't be allowed to bide by what it tells us. I mean the ten commandments state ways in which you can lead your life, and be a good person. By not letting someone take similar action (in this case gay people), it is almost condemning them to a life without such good intentions. So in essence, religion indicates an almost sinful lifestyle to those who do not follow it, and that is against the word of the ten commandments! It's a bit of a vicious circle.

I am very happy to see so many people hear are religious and gay, shows that people have taken it upon themselves to be the better person, regardless of the obscenities that they may have thrown their way.

    Gay and atheist / antitheist.
religion and sexuality have nothing to do with each other.
Just some of the more ridiculous religions do have a problem.
Officially you can't be jewish, Christian or Islamic and not hate homosexuals.
    Sad, but true.

yes but just like everything else they've picked and chosen, and removed to evolve their brainwashing machine, they could always make a "newest testament" and take out more bigotry.

    speaking of christians of course.

I must correct that. I have homosexual friends and I'm Christian. My homosexual friend is also Christian. I don't agree with the ACT of homosexuality, but I love the homosexual just as much as anyone else. My homosexual friend and I are very close, and when he came out of the closet in front of our whole Christian group, nobody condemned him.

I'm bisexual & was raised a non-practicing Christian. When I was in High School I converted to Paganism & have been practicing happily ever since.
