Like it, love it, hate it? What kind do you use and how much? What is your fav. way to make garlic as a dish itself not a seaoning? Ever since I got my nice garlic press I use more garlic then I used to. I'll use the powder if I run outta fresh but I add fresh garlic to pretty much everything and in decent (but not too overpowering although i LIKE the taste of garlic) amounts. My fav. way to cook it that isn't just adding it... is to take a whole bulb... chop off the whole long end... put it on a baking sheet...drizzle with olive oil. Bake about 45 mins... squeeze the garlic out. Very delicious and it goes great in mashed potatoes. anyways new fresh garlic makes me happy.
i like garlic, but it must be used in moderation. i've never eaten garlic as a dish itself. too long in the pizza business, everything's garlic there...
i use a jar of minced garlic. when we have fresh garlic, i'll use that...but we have a pretty large jar of minced garlic and it works well. i use it a lot for my foods...adds some flavor to the limited food i can eat
Cut it into thin slices and caramelise it in a pan with a very small (almost none at all) amount of oil. Avoid the bulbs that turn green on the inside, they will ruin your entire meal if you cook with them.
The secret with roasting garlic like that is it does not taste the same as garlic minced and used in cooking. When you roast it it kinda loses it's extreme garlic tastes and tastes different and better. Seriously.
i press it and put it in everything. i made stuffed bell peppers with quinoa the other day and used tons of garlic. i cook veggies and fish in it. i especially love garlic with tempeh and squash over a bed of fresh spinach with some tamari and miso dressing. good for you and delicious.. my favorite part is adding it to the butter/ghee in the frying pan.... what an aroma.
wow... being that my fav. interests (some of them) are nutrition and cooking, i might have just found a newfound respect for you. Yum.
Hehe, it's all good. :cheers2: My cooking is pretty amazing myself and just the ingrediants you listed made me forget any drama. lolz
I love garlic, I put it in pretty much everything, hahah. I like using lazy garlic (the kind that's in a jar, already chopped) coz I'm, well, lazy. And it doesn't make your hands stinky coz there's no chopping involved, obviously. But yeah anyhooo.. garlic rocks.
I eat garlic and than I like to breathe on people... I love it though... plus it keeps away those pesky vampires that are always trying to get into my room at night...assholes...
