They played a couple shows out west. . . Now they are heading east for a few shows. www.furthur.net Anyone else going?
id like to go see this...im sure i could atleast make it to the lot for the asbury shows but it'll be cold as shit im sure id be happy if they announce a spring/summer tour
http://www.archive.org/details/furthur2009-09-18.aud.phopely.101489.flac16 ^This can give you a good idea of what they sound like im going to the first asbury show for sure. It is expensive but I love the line up. If you can make it to this show it will be worth it. I had the privilage of seeing the dead three times this year and I loved what I saw; however, I always felt John Kadlecik (from dark star orchestra) would've been a better choice of guitarist for the remaining members of the dead. I like Warren Haynes as a guitars, but not for the dead. He's got his own style (which is great). However, John has spent a lifetime learning grateful dead licks and just has that feel. Now John has the oppotunity to create music with bobby and phil. Its beuatiful.
not so big on warren haynes... not comparing the two, but the guy is not even in the same building as jerry. i caught a little of mule's set at bonnaroo (before i left in disgust), and they (gov't mule) attempted to play a few bars from 'st. stephen'... well, sounded like a one armed 3rd grader was playing. of course, this is all just my opinion
yeah i have seen warren countless times with the dead and everytime i left unimpressed... sadly i really fliippin loved/enjoyed the kimock/herring shows ive seen! this lineup sounds very impressive
after many listens to these shows thus far i would prefer for them to keep this lineup i think they are sounding very nice.
john has officially left DSO to stick with furthur, im hoping this leads to a tour next spring/summer
