the fucking gas prices are outrageous i cant beleive how high the price has gone up i heard in the next couple weeks the whole country is going to be paying 3.35 a gallon can u believe that shit fuckin bush and the whole fucking government is trying to screw us any way they can they no that all these new fuckin hydrogen running cars are on there way so theyre milking the gas as much as they can plus look at the hurricane that didnt help any now did it fuck, i say that we should all not buy gas for a week and the gas companies wouldnt be making any money and they would have to lower the prices or something our world is turning to shit anyways evil has started to over come the world people are to obsessed with drugs and shit, dont get me wrong ive done my fare share of drugs, but people kill for them and the world is turning currupt.
what we need to be doing is fighting the tax thats added on.. its really bad here, like 75 cents a gallon. I've heard that Minnesota has it nice, their tax wont go beyond a certain point if the price of gas gets too high, but in Wisconsin 75 cents are added to whatever the price is.
It isn't the taxes that are a problem, it's the price gouging. We need those taxes for road repairs and transportation costs. Do I shed a tear every time I fill up my tank for $33 (or this last time $39), which when I first bought my car took me $13? You bet your ass, but, really, there is nothing we can do about it, which is why it works so well (for them). People can boycott gas all they want, but the truth is, for every person who is boycotting, there are 5 more who don't yet care and are still driving gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs that get 10mpg. With that, are they really going to miss my $100 a month? Not so much, not when they can nearly get it in one tank from that type of driver. The solution is to simply cut down your milage. Start walking or riding your bike for close-distance trips. Drive fuel-efficient cars. The price will NEVER go down... just remember how people were outraged when gas hit $0.60, and they'd line up around the block to fill up before it hit $0.62 per gallon. It's a never-ending battle. Fucking god damn Bush administration.
Oh, and here gas is up to $3.25, at least that's what it was yesterday. But I figure I can't complain since Atlanta is paying $6.00.
i CAN'T not drive - it's like 105 degrees out with the heat index, i can't take my baby for a leisurely stroll down to the grocery store. mosquitoes at night are so thick you practically breath them, and they're always on the news about west nile virus. but, i am trying to 'group' my errands so i hit a few destinations in the same general area at once.
Well wherever you are sounds hellish. But see... at least you are trying to conserve by grouping things together. I can't believe there are still people who just go out for joy-rides.
yeah, i LOVE to drive. gave it up as a hobby though. damn, i'm like 40 miles from the beach (florida) and i won't go any time soon i know, waaaa for me - others have it way worse
oh its pissing me off to no end and soon it wont be worth it to drive to work b/c with the prices we will break about even. Its ridiculous, like cars werent expensive enough its like u have a car to drive to work to pay for your car so you can drive to work i dont even know the price anymore b/c I tell my g/f not to even tell me what it is, she fills it. Be fun riding a bike in the winter in Canada to work this year lol and i'm way the hell out in the country b/c I hate neighbours there is a war, gas goes up a hurricane gas goes up the whole gd world is a conspiracy everyone should just quit there job and go on welfare b/c soon u will break even anyways sell the car and buy alcohol fuck it Im moving into a trailer and getting a govt check that might be my next step
The reason the prices are so high is because there is a "scare" so everyone and thier dog is filling up with gas. The thing is is it's not a scare, because there is plenty of gas there is no shortage. but It is everyone is filling up all at once and the gas stations not able to keep thier tanks full that is causing the problem, so they raise their prices, so they can have gas for all. With prices the way they are it causes people to think twice before filling up 3 cars all at one time.
http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/global_gasprices/ i'm not saying they arent high enough, cheapier than alot of places , wouldn't even you agree?geezz look at kuwait city an riyadh sitting right on top of the majority of the worlds oil an still it's around a dollar a gallon
http://www.canadian-healthcare.org/page8.htmli'm not 100 % sure they get their health care via gas taxes,
Wow, you people really aren't very prepared for Peak Oil, are you? Haha, to think that Bush himself actually controls gas prices and is directly responsible for the currently high prices... some people are off their rockers. Anyway, I'd say don't start complaining yet. Start complaining when you can't afford a single drop.
alot of the problems with the prices is unfortunately due to hurricane katrina. there are now 8 refineries out of commission in new orleans alone, not sure of how many others in the gulf coast area that are out. many oil production platforms and drilling rigs were wiped out. a friend of mine told me they found the rig he works on about 5 miles off location in 3 pieces. also with no port to bring foreign oil into, its limiting how the running refineries can get oil, forcing them to find alternate routes and transportation, which will add to the cost. i think the prices are a bit high, but this can be the kick alternative energy sources need to overcome big daddy oil. next time you buy gas and want to bitch about the prices, think about all the people who not only used to make the gas, but are now homeless, living in a shelter, waiting in line for a simple meal, sleeping on concrete, with the clothes on their backs, no place to go, not sure if their family and friends are alive and no job. think about how global warming may be the direct cause of storms getting bigger, stonger and more destructive every year. how people are still trapped in their attics or on a roof for the last week, due to criminals robbing, shooting and killing those of us that are volunteering to rescue survivors while having to push thousands of bloated, scavenger eaten, human and animal bodies aside, knowing we still have to come back to pick them up, identify them if we can and find their family in a crowded shelter looking them in the eye to tell them of another and this time irreplacable loss. the morgues are full and we're running short of refrigerated 18 wheelers to stack them in, not to mention the fuel to keep the refrigeration units running. there are many in this nation that see and feel this is a LOCAL problem and shouldn't affect their area of the country. the reality is that it's a national problem, we are all dependent on each other and we need to work together as a nation to solve and get through this great tragedy. peace and blessings
goes to show how much oil is the basis of our economy. unemployment will definitely rise with to 500,000+ now displaced from new orleans and the surrounding areas. the cost of everything will go up due to the increase in fuel prices. production will be severly hampened in the coming months. remember 9/11 stopped the whole nation for a few weeks. that was just a few buildings in one city. now imagine what would have happened if it was the whole city. things were already rough for alot of us in this country, with many of us barely keeping a roof over our heads and food in our mouths. we have become a nation of convenience, with daily trips to the store, eating out, vacations, multiple gas guzzling tanks, gigantic a/c and heated homes, name brand clothes, cell phones, puters, etc. be ready for something on the scale of a depression, which most of the people of this nation are totally unprepared for. it's time for us to become neighbors again, make some sacrifices, and work TOGETHER! if every town in this nation would sponsor one or 2 families hit by this tragedy, by finding them a home and a job and helping with transportion to get there, we could more quickly overcome this loss. i had made a post on "national no gas day" not long ago, spreading the word for us not to purchase gas on september 11, 2005. at the time it was to help to lower the prices of gas, now its even more necessary to help those in need. in alot of ways we should do this on the 11th of every month.
