It's a relatively easy thing to do. On paper anyway. I need a access to a large amount of poppies (I have a pretty good amount of seeds.), but the biggest problem is finding somewhere to grow a small field of poppies. By my math, It would take somewhere between 210-420 poppy pods to get an ounce of opium [assuming you got around 80mg of Opium per pod (based of things I've read), or the average was about that, and you either score the pod once, or twice, accounting for the doubles number above.] I'm not sure how much would allow itself to be collected the second round of scoring, so I'd like to have a large amount of the poppies. Morphine is responsible for about 10% of the makeup of Opium, which would mean if my extractions were successful, I could make about 2.8 grams of crude morphine (some of it would be codeine) out of an ounce of Opium. I think this would be decently worth it. Ammonium Chloride and Calcium Hydroxide are required chemicals for the extraction. Both of which aren't too difficult to get. So this is one of my plans for this summer. My biggest concerns are the legal issues surrounding this, as with all drugs. A field of something that's listed as a Schedule II Narcotic would be one thing, but a field of something thats listed as a Schedule II Narcotic, with the intent to create opium is something even worse. I need somewhere that isn't close to roads, as I'll spending a LOT of time there for a few days, scoring pods and collecting opium. Think I can do it?
Growing an entire field of opium poppies is probably the sketchiest thing in the entire world... not to mention it will be a bitch to extract all the opium. Turning the opium into pure morphine is a whole different matter.
well if you live far enough form any major populated area. by which i mean do you live in the outer reaches of nothing! if you try that stuff in any city's limits it's tant amount to putting the cuffs on yourself. wait till you find a feild thats in the middle of nowhere.
