hey, does anyone know the legal age to buy alcohol in france. I have heard from people that it's 14 but im thinking that its a myth/rumour. Any help? because i might have to go there for a few days and might try and bring friends so alcohol would provide a much needed escape from my dull family....
i vaguely recall my old french teacher telling me their legal age to buy is 14. This might come across shocking to a nation where binging is common (like the UK ... legl age is 18, but there is ALOT of underage binging). But French kids are more mature when it comes to alchohol and drink it more sensibly.
which reminds me of a school trip last year to south france.. the 'older' kids (including me) were aloud to go out one night and go to a bar. we got stupidly drunk and pissed off the french guys next to us who were having a quiet drink. lol. There was also alot of alchohol intake without the teachers knowledge back at the hotel by everyone :H
awesome...anyhoo my friends are comeing aswell which should make it more fun. get to spend a week wasted on cheap french cider, wehey!
I live in Belgium, which lies next to France, and you can buy beer and wine here from the age of 16 and I'm pretty sure it's the same in France.
Aye, I've looked around the internet and everywhere says 16 for France, a bunch said though under 16's can purchase alcohol at bars when with adults.
