What do you know about them? Are they really a secret organization that run everthing that goes on in the world?

Why are people so suspicious of them? Discuss your thought here, openly and freely.

they are just one arm of the group that controls us all,the "illuminatti" if you will. the free masons, club of rome, the bilderberg group all are intertwined. do they have a large bearing on our destiny? yes..

Most Masons are just your typical low-level porch Masons who do charitable work in the community. These people are essentially used as dupes to give the organization an image that cannot be easily attacked. Even Albert Pike, who was the 19th century pope of Freemasonry, stated in his own Morals and Dogma that the first three degress make up what he called an outer portico of Freemasonry. He said that the initiates of the lower degrees are no better than the profane, which is their term for the unenlightened masses. Most people who join the organization never make it past the third degree and are thus never let into the real world of Freemasonry. Rather, instead they are mislead with false meanings and given an exoteric knowledge of Freemasonry rather than an esoteric one. Only those with the right (or should I say RITE) attributes are moved up the ladder and let on to hidden knowledge.

they are just an old group that once had some power who were written about in a book of FICTION and now people have invented conspiracies that they somehow control the modern world... no one has any facts of course to prove that, but that really doesnt matter in conspiracy land

Yes, that is very true. The entire counter-culture was an elite-creation to destabilize society, making people easier to manipulate.

They are indeed an old group, that can be traced back through history (normal not "conpiracey theory history") to the Knights Templar, one of the most powerful groups of people for 200 years who set up franchises all across europe and owned lots and lots of property, their fortune has never been found with exception to a very few relics.

i'm not denying what you said, but i do disagree with the notion of the Dead knowingly doing such a thing.. they were simply manipulated into doing it, as were most artists with the media attention. all the GD did was play their music.

The notion is we all do things unknowingly..

Grove Stage — it is an amphitheater with seating for 2,000 used primarily for the Grove Play production, on the last Friday of the midsummer encampment. The stage extends up the hill side, and is also home to the second largest outdoor pipe organ in the world.
Field Circle — a bowl-shaped amphitheater used for the mid-weekend, "Low Jinx" musical comedy, as well as for variety shows.
Campfire Circle — has a campfire pit in the middle of the circle, surrounded by carved redwood log benches. Used for smaller shows in a more intimate setting.
Museum Stage — a semi-outdoor venue with a covered stage. Lectures and small ensembles shows.
Dining Circle — seating approximately 1500 diners simultaneously.
Club House — built in 1903, it is the site of the Manhattan Project planning meeting held in 1942 (see above).
The Owl Shrine and the Lake — an artificial lake in the middle of the grove, used for the noon-time concerts and also the venue of the "Cremation of Care", that takes place on the first Saturday of the encampment. It is also the location of the daily (12.30pm) "Lakeside Talks." Professor G. William Domhoff (see below) states these significant informal talks (many on public policy issues) have been given over the years by entertainers, professors, astronauts, business leaders, cabinet officers, CIA directors, future presidents and former presidents; these have been the subject of ongoing controversy, as the transcripts of these talks are rarely released to the public (though have been known to be used for such mundane purposes as reading for the lecturer's graduate students).

    [edit] Camp Valets
Camp valets are responsible for the operation of the individual camps. The "head" valets are akin to a general manager's position at a resort, club, restaurant, or hotel.

    [edit] Symbolism and rituals
Since the founding of the club, the Bohemian Grove's symbol has been an owl, and a forty-foot concrete owl symbolizing knowledge stands at the head of the lake in the Grove and, since 1929, has served as the site of the yearly "Cremation of Care" ceremony[6]. The club's motto, Weaving Spiders Come Not Here, is taken from the second scene of Act 2 from A Midsummer Night's Dream; it signifies that the Grove is limited to exchanges about mutual concerns and is characterized by the term "the Bohemian Spirit.
