So I just took about a 6 mile walk... part of it was through the woods near this swamp. I was listening to The Allman Brothers Band on my portable CD player. It was their new album Hittin' the note... the one with the elephants on it. Anyway, it was on track eleven, "Old Friend"... and it's majorly acoustic and slide on a dobro and an acoustic guitar... It's not delta stuff... it's what I would call Appalachian Blues... anyway, I was walking and I started getting these really strange vibes like I got on Hampton Plantation down near Georgetown, South Carolina... I remember it being really freaky... like I shouldn't be there. And there was this chimney left from the slave quarters and it felt like someone was going to get me... and I felt it around this patch of willows and live oaks with spanish moss all over... and it was really freaky. I was walking by the swamp bottom down here by this river and I started getting the same vibe... like someone was out to get me and I shouldn't be there... and I kept having these visions of slaves and people out to get me and it was scaring the shit out of me. The south is full of weird shit. ~ George
thats some weird shit.....maybe you should grab some shovels and start digging around there, look if theres a bunch of unmarked graves. the spirits might want a proper burial, ya know?
Woah! Man, today I went down to the woods and around this area by the river I've never been to before. I was walking down this tall-grass-covered hill down to nthe irver, but freaked out and ran back up the hill because I was afraid I'd not see a hornet's nest and I'de step on it and they'de kill me Then when I was in the forest, i was walking down this very rarely-used path, down a steep hill, and it's really far down from the path, and I started walking down, but felt like someone was there and left. I'm paranoid
Yeah...this town is old. It was a big ordinary town (ordinary meaning it produced cannonballs) in the revolutionary war, war of 1812, and the civil war. I live within view of the old courthouse circle and that was built when the town was founded in 1651.... We discovered some sinkholes (unmarked graves) on our old farm... the house there was built in 1775 and it used to be about 875 back then....when my great-great-grandfather bought it, it was 157 acres. It has cannonball patches on the inside walls and on the hardwood floors. The farm was said to be cleared in the 1400s by the ancestors of Chief Powhatan of the Powhatan tribe of the Iriquois from Werowicomico (supposedly Wicomico, VA, but they found his original site to be about a mile from where I live). The college of William & Mary from Williamsburg, VA did an archaelogy dig but never found the graves. Our neighbor found them while he was snooping around and he told my great-grandfather. It's just one of those towns... you don't get the vibe everywhere you go... just certain spots if you're walking in a wooded area or around an area with a significant past like that. I hate walking at night around that place... there's fucking bobcats in the swamp... there's one that's huge... it tried to attack me once. They say that some descendents of slaves still practice voodoo to get revenge on descendents of slave owners. The south scares the shit out of me sometimes.... and I know it's true because you can feel it.
i was walking with my friends once and we came to this abandoned house in the woods and i smashed open one of this windows so i could go inside. (it wouldnt have done any damage the house was falling apart). and this angry guy threw an armchair at me, no joke.
damn i don't think i could ever break a window, even if the house was falling down. seems dis-respectful to me. you never know who or what is living in there. id be afraid some spirit wold get pissed and kick my ass
