This is disgusting! That poor girl has to live with that for the rest of her life, those pictures are tragic. Something should be done about those people! It seems like it goes on far too much over there!
It is quite sad but this is not only one culture does this. In some places in India, and Asia children are often married off even earlier. So you cannot just point the finger at Islam... Btw not to long ago it was considered okay for young girls as young as 9 in Mexico to be married off. My bestfrieds grandmother has 14 kids, and she got married at 10.
And obviously if you read the article the entire community looked down upon this terrible act. Neighbors gave her food, and blankets, and she was saved by a passerby. The father in law is in jail. Unfortunately these things happen to women all over the world. As a massage therapist I have clients that are women who were/are beaten by the men in their lives here in Arizona.

I think ayatollah khomeini did I know that he said "A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual act such as forplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not comitted a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man's four permanent wives. I think mohammed and the early muslims do a great job of showing what the religion is all about what with mohammed marrying a 6 year old and having sex with her before puberty, as she was playing with dolls which was something only a pre-puberty child could do at the time . I think mohammed was as or more evil than khomeni, he tortured people and had slaves made people into slaves ,could you show me something that khomeni did that was worse than mohammed ? as far as I know khomeni didnt buy and sell people for profit
THAT POOR GIRL!!! that story is totally and utterly, 100% absolutely disgraceful. It is unfortunate that such cruelty exists within this world, and that there are such humans as this poor girls father in law. It is like the story of the american family that didnt want 1 of their sons and put him in the chicken coup all his life. They fed him chicken food, and treated him like a chicken. At ten when he was found, he was squatting on the bar in the coup (feet curled around it) like the other chickens, and squaking. We also know of the horrible conditions that american and british prisoners are facing in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay, that are a disgrace to everything of human rights that world leaders are so keen to talk about these days. Humans can be so cruel, but dont go getting racist on it. Everyone bar this 1 sadistic family in this poor girl's story wanted to help her. Just like the sadistic family in america, this family in afghanistan have commited heinous crimes. If we are to hate everyone in afghanistan as a result of this, then the same courtesy should be extended to everyone in america, and england and every country where barbaric acts have been commited. We will then even have to extend our hatred to our very selves. There is alot of cruelty and hatred in this world, we should try and stand up against this flow and be strong enough to actually love and care. peace and love
You can do anything in the name of religion. Sodomy, child abuse, wife beating, even make war. Beats me, what all that shit has to do with God. And Christians have no right to condemn other religions, either. Their history of blood, gore, abuse, torture is well documented and continues today. Note the good christians who worked at Abu Ghraib, and those who led this country to war based on lies.
This is terrible. I actually have two friends who (and just to be clear neither have any connection to Islam) suffered like this. One was repeatedly raped by her stepfather, and one beaten. Also an ex-girlfriend was sodomized by her father, ~And he was one of the violently pro-christian type people. I tell ya, the world is in a sad, sad state...
