I've been reading up and apparently they're 'bad' or you need to get an 'extract' some how because of the poison that's also in them? Seriously need some strong advice on this matter, feel free to post in. Thanks all.

In Croatia it is in August. Since you've already found them, maybe it's different there then in Croatia. I don't know but i bet you can't get any harm by using them. You dry the mushrooms, grind 'em into powder put the powder in boiled water for half an hour and then drink it. By drying the mushrooms and exposuring them to the sun they lose all the poisonous substances and become more hallucinogenic. Never eat them raw cause you can only get nausea. It's best to combine it with marijuana. Smoke one joint after consuming the mushrooms because it can help you with the nausea. Enjoy it!
the ibotenic acid or whatever is the problem. it converts to muscimol (the good stuff) upon getting hottish. make a tea of the mushies, or dry in an oven. there are many directions for this.
Hey thanks guys, we ended up just eating them anyway, like raw, dried a bit, tea, you name it, but never ground it up into a powder. I'd say the most that happened was real mental clarity and my hand looked effing huge, that and feeling really heavy. But nothing intense, it was probably a super light trip because I didn't have a huge amount, I believe we still have plenty left and know where more are, so maybe if we prepare them this time (Ps; Did not feel any nausea or anything that was described, how ever my mate did throw up from eating it at one point, but he doesn't like mushrooms, never has (anykind) )
Ah excelent. I havnt tried them yet, but I hope to this winter, and I have been reading up about the preparation of them, I will share with you my knoledge of various preparation methods. First of all get 3 medium size caps- wash the white sprinkle things off and cut into quarters. Peel the red skin off and place on a plate in the oven. Then scrape the orange goo from the top of the mushroom and scoop it onto the red skin. Note: the orange goo and the red skin are the most potent, some people eat the whole cap but in an attempt to reduce nausea only use the goo and the skin. Set oven to 170-200F and bake/dry them in the oven for a few hours with the door open a little. Remove from oven and allow to cool, leve it to dry. cut it up somehow and place in a cup, pour over warm water to make a tea. let it stew and then drink. eat any residue at the bottom.
