Serious question, I've seen a lot of people say "fuck this I wish I could get out of here!" but I've never heard those same people say which country they would go to

So where would you go? What's different about the other country you would go to that makes it better than america?

this thread isn't to say "america is the best", but to see how much knowledge of other countries people that want to leave this one have

what country do you think would oppress you less as far as their legal system and laws? please cite which laws specifically

I want to leave to a different social environment. I find Europe to be a lot more open minded, wittier, and generally less ignorant, Japan to be a lot more interesting (even though the social rules could be trying in ways), and Canada to be like a colder version of Cali.

I do not necessarily want to leave the country though; I find that I could find cooler areas within the country, such as the aforementioned Cali, and the 'everyone mind's their own' areas of the north midwest.

Moving to another country is extremely difficult and takes a lot of time. Unless you have a ton of money, family or close friends in another country, or a way to get fake papers and ID, you probably can't do it.

I'm fine with America. I mean, sure there are lots of things i'd like to change, but i've grown quite accustomed to the American lifestyle. To try to start over somewhere else with completely different laws and a completely different lifestyle seems like it'd be overwhelming. Either way, all government are pretty corrupt, I don't think anywhere i'd go would necessarily be better.

bullshit, my cousin left for Australia today with a work visa; has very little money, doesn't have a job lined up, and just got the idea to do it in August.

Europe is open minded as long as the issue doesn't involve either muslims or other brown people from North Africa.

Let's see, I've lived in Holland, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden and Germany. The standard of living in EVERY ONE of those countries is now higher than the US (including Spain, despite their unemployment!).

People in Holland used to get free health & social care from cradle to grave (this is changing as they adopt more American ways into their society).

Sweden & Germany have much higher standards of living. They get like 4-8 weeks vacation every year, and in Germany this can include an all expense paid trip to a health spa. How much vacation do you get?

Australia was not touched by the recent financial crisis cause they weren't stupid like Americans & Europeans and didn't invest in shady deals. So now the Aussie dollar has appreciated like 50% against the US dollar and is now equal to it. So you can't afford to move to Australia, or ANY of these countries anymore cause your dollar ain't what it used to be!

Eh...I lived in Australia. Foreign exchange. Schooling there was terrible. Maybe because you were older, it didn't affect you, but I wouldn't want to raise my kids there.

I just hate it when people say they hate America. I always turn to them and ask, then why don't you just leave? They usually just shut up at that point. I like it here. Things have been working okay for me. Maybe I'd consider Canada b/c of the healthcare. That's the only real problem I guess I have right now. But I don't think that the negatives of other countries outweigh what they have over America, for me anyway.

i like america. I hate our government, but I like the country. the physical landscape is beautiful and the people are diverse. its not a bad place. our biggest problem is we elect too many corrupt leaders.

however, if I did leave I would like to live in either italy, france, or new zealand. italy because i'm obsessed with their culture and they seem to be a very warm people. France because i really admire their healthcare system and I like the liberal attitude of their people. New Zealand because it seems like a beautiful place for an outdoorsy, laid-back person to live.

The only things that make the US bad is because of the leadership and the desire to expand global influence and domination. But I guess that's mostly the UN. But USA is equally responsible for fucking up many nations in central America.

America's post-puritan culture still lingers around. Europe and Africa are a lot more open minded toward nudity and exposure.

I still like it here. Governments are corrupt everywhere you go. Americans generally aren't that cosmopolitan because its an enormous country that borders two other enormous countries. Many Americans have to spend lots and lots of money in order to travel across vast political borders of different countries with different cultures and languages. Its because of geographic location.

What about the crude mass-media or the sheeple?

Really, I find America's politics more bearable than the culture (or lack thereof)

i just wish that people in america would stop being pussies and would stand up for their rights and shit.

like if you want something passed or done in government, we should be organizing rallies and shit. public demonstration is awesome and is about the ONLY thing i am jealous of france about.

    fuck france.
