The Eccles Cake . Manchester bake

 

Similar to the Eccles cake the Chorley cake . The main difference is the currents are dispersed into the cake/pastry mix . Another local bake to me

No jelly in these. Just a layer of currents normally dried

 

This is what I had for my Burns Night Supper .I have some Scottish blood in me .

Veggie version of Haggis. Very tasty I must say and washed down with a wee dram

 

in the mining country of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan the “youpers” have plenty of pastie shops...Yum!
