so i LOVE the direction MGMT is going. I bought the new cd and I am having so much fun listening to it! I like it better than the first one but i also think its pretty out there, you might need a unique ear to listen. tell me you thoughts on it!
Glad you love it! I love their new album as well... As I mentioned in another thread here about the new album... It has the quiet energy that just explodes!!! I listen to all three of their albums CONSTANTLY! Song For Dan Treacy is my favorite, but I honestly love them all.
I love that song too.... I like Brian Eno and I found a whistle....oooo just talking about it makes me want to listen to it! Its a ride, but its also intelligent.
I freakin <3 I Found A Whistle... Reminds me a bit of David Bowie! I have tickets to go see them on the 26th of October here in Miami Beach! Concert has already SOLD OUT! I'll be in the very front of the Pit! =D
i thought it was ammazzing very different from there previous albums but very good. I think mgmt is one of the greatest newer bands out there right now!
I'm hoping be as lucky one day, but its nice to here there are others out there that dig it. When I first bought the CD my boyfriend was not liking it very much, I left it in his car's CD player and a week later I got in his car with him and it started playing. I just looked at him and smiled because I knew that it had gotten to him and hooked him right it.
it does take a little to get used to i know i wasnt feeling it at first but i gave it another listen and i like fell in love.
^^^Yeah, it lacks that strong sing/song poppy feel that some songs on the first one had... So it doesn't exactly jump out at you the first time you hear it, but now everytime I listen to it I notice something different! Love it!
It's one of my favorite albums of 2010... I don't find a lot of albums I can keep listening to without getting bored of them anymore, but this was one. Even if I LIKE the album, I can still get bored, but it didn't happen with this one. I know a lot of people weren't enthusiastic about it, but I love it... and I almost completely hated their first one.
