Well I finished and consumed my concoction yesterday. I'm rather impressed that something I purchased at the hardware store could deliver such a nice psychedelic head space. I skinned, de-cored, blended 16.5" x 3" inches of the magical cacti. I then simmered it with the juice of four lemons for 3.5-4 hours. Strained the pulp and reduced the potion down to about 10 ounces.
At 2 pm I started to drink the stuff. I took a couple of ounces of potion and mixed it with about three times as much strong lemonade. I took a shot, chased with straight lemonade and nibbled a little wheat bread. I did this until by 3 pm I had consumed about 6 ounces. I needed a break and could already feel the start of effects so I put the rest in the freezer. The come-up was a bit harsher than I'm used to with acid or shrooms. It would hit me in waves of nausea and head swimming rushes that all I could do was say Oh Shit! Luckily I never lost my guts, even though I tried a couple of times.
For the first two hours I went through cycles of normalcy and major rushes, then all the sudden the rushes stopped and I had arrived at my destination!
There I was back in the land of psychedelia. It has been almost ten years since I've consumed any psyches, and it was nice to see the place was still the same. I didn't have any major visuals and was able to easily carry on conversations without any problems. This is a much clearer head space than LSD or mushrooms. Mushrooms are a goofy high and LSD is full of emotional overtones to everything. I think I've found my new favorite. :D
At 8PM I decided to take the remaining potion and I'll say it definitely took an act of determination to get it down! I finished the evening by taking a walk with my 9 year old daughter and then went and laid down and listened to music until about 3 am.
I'm very happy with the results and the specimen I got is obviously relatively strong :) . Now that I know what to expect I'm going to do a more complete and stronger dose with better preparation for the journey.
My estimation is that I got about 200-250 mgs of mescaline out of my tea.
Next time I'm gonna go for double that. I know I rushed the extraction a bit, but I saved the pulp and will use it next time as I don't think I got all the good out of it yet.

I love the Lamb, one of my favorites ever since it first came out.
That line is how I feel as the doors of perception open when beginning a psyche journey.

Well I drank some more tea on Sat.
Cleaned and and prepared 23"x3" of San Pedro and added the mush left over from last time. Boiled it twice for two hours each batch, then cooked it down to 6 ounces of "tea". At 4:30 pm I started to down the potion, managed to get down 3 shots over the hour but only finished a little less than 5 ounces.
My body now refuses to consume San Pedro tea again. My taste buds will forget, my mind will forget, but it may take my body a year or so to forget that cactus tea has got to be the most vile shit ever consumed!

I forgot about adding the pulp from before to the mix so my brew came out just a wee bit stronger than anticipated. I could have gotten by with a third to half of what I cooked up.
As it was I was propelled on the most intense and long lasting psychedelic experience of my life!
I wish I knew how much Mescaline I actually took, but for comparison it was a lot stronger than my strongest LSD trip which was on 550-600 ug.
I would guess about 500+ mgs? No real way of knowing at this point.
It was the most positive trip of that magnitude I've ever had.
It took about 4 hours for the full effects to manifest.
It took about 18 hours before I was completely back to baseline.

    Hours of preparation
the taste was vile at the least :puke:
    stomach cramps throughout the trip
body load and come-up was harsh
not able to sleep and being awake for about 36 hours
    = hefty admission price
It was well worth it :coolgleamA:

Mescaline is definitely a very controllable experience. The clarity of thought is outstanding, much more conducive to change than LSD or shrooms IMO.
LSD ties an enormous emotional significance and weight to everything, one of the main reasons for bad trips.
Mushrooms for me were always like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Fun and crazy.
I may get some soon to make a better comparison.

With the cactus it allowed me to "go along" as an observer and student is the best way I can convey the overall tone of the trip. LSD requires to much involvement and emotional attachment to the experience.
The OEV's were outstanding, the usual waves of patterns, trails, gleaming cartoon surrealistic look to everything.
The CEV's were like nothing I've had before.
Sitting in my backyard watching the kittens play and the ground rolling with waves of patterns I would close my eyes and instantly be taken away.
Sometimes it was to a high plateau overlooking the earth, others it was out to the edge of the galaxy. I remember being told that if I kept my feet touching the earth than I wouldn't fly off as we journeyed. I always had the awareness of my feet firmly on the ground no matter what was going on in my mind's eye. At times I was literally "holding on for dear life" with my toes, so intense and involving were the spectacles and vistas laid out before me.
Most amazing psychedelic experience in my life to date without question.

Two things really struck me with this substance..
Sound is VERY important. Make sure of the sound scape where you consume the cacti is. You hear EVERYTHING. What it did to music is the strangest thing of all. I was listening to music I've heard many times before, but it sounded nothing like I remember. Mescaline completely changed how my brain processed music, at times it was very awesome and beautiful at others it was hellacious and I had to stop.
Hard to describe, just have to experience it for yourself.

The other thing I noticed was how in control I was with everything, except music. If I wanted to go to another "view" with me eyes closed I just did.
If I had to interact with others, no problem even when I was at the peak of the high, which lasted about 5 hours.
It also allowed enough detachment that not once was I overwhelmed or scared. I know if I had a similar experience with LSD or shrooms that would not have been the case. I could "guide" the flow of images and patterns if I wanted. I literally could function as though completely normal (almost) or I could allow the mescaline to take over and flood me with visuals.

As far as what was being communicated, nothing really, it's just a chemical, not a living creature. Any thing communicated derives from within my own mind. That is one thing I've noticed is no revelations or eureka moments, no mystical insights, etc.
I think that has more to do with me at this stage. The things that psychedelics make us aware of are things which I am aware of all the time anymore, so any insights or revelations at this point are reminders and affirmations, not new information.
But this plant is definitely my new ally, just be more cautious with the dose :p

PB my new hero. Its been along time since anyone on the hip turned onto mescaline. I would love to come trip with you. Now that you have come to the realization of the blender method. I would suggest making an attempt at evaporating your cactus juice extractions and coffee grinding the final fully dried product into powder. Not only will you be able to store it indefinetley in a vial. You could also concentrate the potion to less volume. Plus in my opionion the cactus juice always paralleled with V8. I believe that evaporated cactus juice powder would mix well with a small amount of V8 that is followed by a chug of ice water. Still at work with setting. I have vowed only to trip mescaline in uninhabited wilderness locations. Personal preference. Anyways bro congrats on opening the portal with your own two hands. peacefullness. e

Yea bro. I had a similar experience a couple weeks ago.
I should write up a report on it, but I know what you mean with the music thing. It sounds sped up and a little warped to me, I don't know how you could really describe it.
I was sitting in the grass at one pont, but was overwhelmed with everything and indoors. Maybe it was for the best - visions, bells, whoops, zangs all of a cyclic nature... You know what I mean.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but were your visions bright? Like a bright light in the background of everything?

No not really bright, but my sensitivity to light was very amplified. With my eyes closed the neighbors porch light across the street seemed like a sun through my eyelids. The visions with my eyes closed were vast panoramic scenes of nature or space and I saw them all simultaneously and could instantly "pull" a different scene in front of me by simply "willing" it.

I felt like the glasses in Mr.Writers sig picture, out in the vast expanses just watching and observing.

Not hardly a hero, just some lucky enough to get some very active cacti. ;)

I do like the cleaner, observer feel to mescaline more than the emotional roller coaster that LSD can be at times. didn't get stuck in any "thought loops"
no panic or fear of not coming down. When I did start to think of some problems and start into the dark thought patterns I just said to myself," there's nothing I can do about it today." put those thoughts aside and continued to enjoy the experience. Just setting thoughts aside like that is very hard for me to do on acid, often I get caught in a thought loop, you know what I mean? The only time I did get a sense of being overwhelmed was after taking three hits off a bowl of very potent bud and listening to Frank Zappa "Stinkfoot" from Apostrophe, a classic must hear.

"do the walls close in and suffocate ya
you ain't got no friends and all the others they hate ya,
does the life you been leading gotta go?"

Is was more the bud and the music rather than the lyrics that started to get to me, plus mescaline can do some reeeaaalllly weird shit to music and it started to get to me. Just turned off the music, got up stretched, walked around and all was good.

Yes I do like the cacti, may try for another round this weekend though not as strong, it wasn't bad just a bit much for the setting and more than I anticipated. Definitely gonna try to evaporate it down to a solid though, that tea is just fucking brutal, but once down it stayed down.
