I finally did lsd after a few years of researching and whatnot. I did it in the afternoon which was amazing specially with the sun setting. Wonderful experience all up, got some awesome visuals both open and closed eye, got some insight into who i really am. I will definately be doing this again
Good to hear you finally took the leap and "break on through to the other side". It's seriously such a mind expanding experience and you can see why its so illegal cuz the gov't would hate for so many people to become much more aware and informed. What kind of visuals did you get?
snake eating its own tale so what is acid then the hand that slaps the snake and makes it slither again. a slithering snake is just as dangerous as a coiled up one. both can poison the host which harbours it too close, with too much trust.
yes but coiled up snakes are being defensive. slithering snakes flow with the tide. lmao. what good is poison if it is directed inwards?
analogy failure you are not snake you are presence aware of snake prelsd: you are presence aware of snake, and snake is eating own tail postlsd: you are presence aware of snake, and snake is slithering advantage: snake is healthier! disadvantage: its a healthy snake. you are not the thing that is freed by lsd.
holy shit, ineed to get you guys to do this more often, that really makes me think and i like it haha
its real easy. snake is analogy for mind, ok? snake = mind. before acid, your mind was busy chewing on itself, doing all kinds of strange things, in other words, being "normal" as straight society would say. After acid, your mind stopped chewing on itself, and became more free and more healthy. Yet, you are not this mind. Mind is but an appendage that you have, an incorporeal organ which manifests thoughts and moods and other things much like your right arm manifests things like sweat and blood and muscle and skin and bone and movement. Since you are aware of your mind, you are not it. You are something "behind" it, as it were, looking at it. You are able to say correct statements like "My mind is busy today". Clearly you are not this "mind" then, for you are there to observe it coming and going in a variety of phenomenological circumstances. Thoughts arise in your awareness. Emotions arise in your awareness. You are this awareness, not the mind. You are only watching the mind just as you are watching this computer screen (through your eyes, through your mind! ). So it is incorrect to say that LSD frees anyone. It doesn't free you anymore than making your arm more flexible frees you. We associate too much with our mental world, our concepts, our terminology. We have forgotten that we are not this dream world that we live in, we are the one who watches the dream world, who believes in it, who mistakes it all too often for "true reality", when in fact its just our mind's models of, and reactions to, reality. So, since our "freedom" is not hinged on whether or not our mind has caught up to the fact that we were always free, what is it that LSD does? Is it really just a molecule which grabs hold of our mind, shakes it about, crumbling more and more of the structures there with repeated use and higher dosage, and letting our awareness *realize* (also in mind!) "Aha! There is no need for this thing to be in this way. I see now that I have greater autonomy over this mental presence I live with." And then life improvements follow. Is that what LSD does? Because if it is, wow. It is the mind-shredder. Bad reactions to LSD would then be explainable by what I already intuitively believe, which is that in those cases people's minds simply win out, even over LSD (mind can win at anything really), and they simply fail to get that good psychic shaking and stirring, and leave the experience even MORE mindful, and now with further added constructs and patterns of illusion.
well if your going to take that stance then how can you really be so sure that your awareness is yourself? that's just an illusion too. i think your getting too caught up with semantics and definition. the word is the word. but since everything is an illusion, then what are you waiting for? the illusion to end? well, your still right here. what are you going to do about it? synchronising the illusion with the truth is about as close to god as you can get. writer, i think we were born to do this.
the original ouroboros came from egyptians, and the phoenecians made it their own, changed it and gave it the name we use today. at first it was not a snake eating itself. it was two snakes, male, female. each one was biting the other.
i really enjoyed reading this writer!! VERY VERY well thought out. i just dont get one thing. are you saying in the 2nd to last paragraph that we should quit doing LSD and life will begin to improve??
I have yet to do LSD and I kept getting this feeling of "spoiling" the experience by reading through this thread. There's a lot of things here that make a lot of sense, but I'd like to discover them for myself. Is that odd? I just feel like somebody is ruining the ending to a really good movie. I want to find out what happens on my own! So I stopped reading after Writer's last post.
no trust me nothing you can read will spoil anything for you... everyones experiences are all different.
