where do you feel unwelcome? Anywhere on this forum, or other net sites, or is it just confined to real life?
Well, in real life I am unwelcome in a lot of places lol. On here, I feel unwelcome by most people, but some seem to have grown to like me at least somewhat. I just stick around anyway though. I like to learn from people.
I've felt that way from time to time here but have come to the conclusion that it's one of life's more insignificant tragedies and I'm wasting energy by being angry or upset about it. I've experienced the "post around" where I contribute something to an active thread and it suddenly dies until someone quotes a previous response thereby deftly avoiding acknowledgment of my contribution. Again, not worth being bothered about but yes, I've experienced it.
The more open minded people might be waiting to see the content of what you're contributing before establishing any dialog.
People do that cause they're shy or insecure or comforted by their comfort zone (people)... believe me.... (upon further note i must add- "at least that's what i tell myself")
Some can be quick to judge, sure. But the ones you have mentioned arent the ones who have made me feel unwelcome. It doesnt matter actually, by saying unwelcome in my original comment, I am only implying that I feel as if I have no purpose to say anything, not that I have been offended.
theres a few subforums here that i don't go to because i think i'd be unwelcomed, but sometimes i pop in because its an interesting topic
whea, in woostah? I pop in ta woosta sometimes, have me a nice bowl a chowdah in ma cah, but it spills sometimes.
not from woostah, i'm in boston ....woosta is alright though - i get my clam chowdah from Union Oyster House
I don't feel welcome in my Spanish class. Everyone is soooooo into Spanish and I am just like fucccccckkkkkkkk I wanna C and wanna fucking graduate! Everyone in the class is pretty much taking it as a major class or an elective as intermediate fluency in another language isn't a requirment at SDSU like it is a CSU. Everyone also heads to the on campus bar after class and I always go home or to meet someone in SD...it's like hmm yes let's prolong school a little longer with alchohol...because 4 hours of spanish just wasn't enough...let's do it again drunk.
have never felt unwelcome in any of the forums, although I think at times, my direct responses, might just be. That be posting
There is one forum I feel rather unwelcome on in here, just some comments and a pm. As for real life, there are some places I feel really awkward in, unwelcome in some of the lower-end areas but I think that's generally a universal unwelcome-ness
Considering I am a woman and that I also moderate that forum......I have not warned you, I have not wiped a post. I wipe few posts and tolerate as long as it is a discussion that is not abusive in that forum. After how many posts do you think you have a problem.......stick around......lol Hello?? To be fair, very few women or men for that matter in this forum have ever been out of line with regards to forum rules......if they are then PM me and I will look at it then. Please though make it a valid complaint other than someone does not agree with you. If there is a break in guidelines, I will get involved. Heat
