Yeah,I don't know what he gets so uptight about.After all ,the religions are paying their fair share of tax--.Oh,wait.Well,they have certainly been proving how tolerant and peace-loving they--hhmm.Uh,they've created plenty of jobs around the world changing sheets for rich tourists.Yes that's good.Let's see--they don't burn,kill,ostracize,meddle in govermen----aw,forget it.

 

not all christan's suck. my fiance is one but I am not. I do not believe in the politics in the church, and who can prove spirituality in their own hearts, but the individual. I am for free thinking and testing beliefs and making sure their your own, but I have respect for my inlaws who follow "god". my mother in law is a Catholic and works in the church, but she believes in crystals and chakras and reincarmation... real cool woman, gave me alot of "spirituality" books. So they don't all suck, just tooo many... lol

Like fedup I've had to tolerate and live in a Christian society. I've done my time in church with my family.

There's another reason why I believe Christianity should be dealt with before more fanatical religions. I do believe religion is a sickness. It is a sometimes terminal, socially infectious mental illness. The simple fact that a Christian dominated society still managed to create a free thinking, free speech nation shows that there is hope. Even if there really is no such thing as true fee speech, because speaking you mind often does come with the cost of consequence, the intentions are real. Do any of you think we'd even have such free speech forums if the world was all Muslim?

So the world is infected with the sickness of religion. If Christianity is pneumonia then Islam is cancer. What are the survival chances of performing an operation and chemotherapy on a patient to remove cancer while he's also suffering with pneumonia? Not too good, we need to cure the pneumonia before we treat the cancer. Unfortunately with cancer, you can’t afford to take too much time with the pneumonia. Another problem we have, the world isn’t even past the first stage of denial yet. For the most part, refuses to acknowledge that it's even sick.

 

Religions that promote free thinking should be praised and maybe even followed, if the individual can control the urge to get lost in group thinking. My religion is loving-kindness.

I think Fedup points out a lot of the flaws with Christianity as an organized religion. If all those fundamentalists would practice what Jesus preached (aka love, peace, acceptance) he wouldn't bitch as much.

i respect all religions. i respect athiests. some of my wounded rants have said otherwise but as of now i am officially saying to you- be at peace.. nobody is perfect! there are cracks in the human soul its part of the results of yucky things such as hate.violence.anger.pain.

basically i believe we should all be able to state what we please..just as our dear fellow fedUP is allowed to bash christianity just as much and freely talk..i believe i should be able to say what i please. ill try my abolute best to not try and control your words. its just hard to take all the criticism..my god is dear to me so i take the remarks very personally.

you see us "christian hypocrites" try our best to be like JC but god is the only one who can be perfectly humble..in my opinion. we try our best..i know a few christians ..not very many. i am striving to be a TRUE christian..im trying my best. its only been 2 months..so as you can see i am bound to step out of my boundaries.

i love alot of the buddhist beliefs
i like some of the jewish traditions
i go to other churches at times..
i feel astrology can be interesting
i think spiritualism is enthralling
but the only religion i can follow with my whole soul is gods religion..it just makes the most sense to me..it doesnt have to make sense to you. whatever makes you happy! this is the trick that has proved to produce wonderful results. i HAVE tried other things..ill do my best to be open minded!

 

my faith is stronger than cement brother. i have not insulted you as much as you have insulted me! im sorry you feel that way. i apologize because i felt the need to do so..im sorry if that bothers you. ill be praying that your heart is changed! yea i might not be as deeply involved with religious politics as you..ALLS i have to offer is my personal testimony.
