I'm not talking cigarettes, what is your favorite RYO tobacco? I've only had 1, bugler, and I want soemthing else.
Hmmmm..my favorite roll your own is American Spirit, 100% all natural tobacco with no additives. MMMM...delicious.
i dont like cigarettes very much anymore since i've had better pipe tobaccos and cigars. but american spirit is alright, so is bali shag. i dunno. don't do much for me, but they're alright i guess.
i disagree but only to an extent. i used to be heavily addicted to cigarettes, and would smoke a pack and a half, two packs a day. i'd often light my next cigarette off of one i was already smoking that was at the end of its life..... back then, i smoked like a chimney, and wouldnt touch cigars or pipes, and i thought they were rediculous. now i have a cigarette maybe 1-3 times a week. often a lot less. i smoke once a day, sometimes twice, sometimes not at all. but i DEFINITELY prefer pipes and cigars over cigarettes any time i am at liberty to smoke and have at least half an hour in which to do so. cigarettes usually taste like shit and have far more noticible damaging effects on the body than pipes or cigars, which do not need to be inhaled to be enjoyed, and which are not nearly as addictive. i've beaten the nicotine fiend symptoms, but once in a while i do want a cigarette. rarely though. i'd much rather have a pleasant smoke than a quick smoke with a cheap, nasty buzz to go along with it in most cases.
(I smoke a whole lot of RYO) So in order of preference: 1) American Spirit Organic Blend (Or just the generic spirit if I'm poor). 2) Drum 3) Bali Shag I'm smoking on a drum of drum for almost a month now. 12$ for a month... it's pretty damn good, considering I was spending 4$ a day on ciggs beforehand.
Picked up American Spirit. it's in the mail with papers and filters. $17 with shipping... for about 200 smokes.
American spirit is great but it's hard to find over here, you have to go to specialist tobacconists or hippy shops and such. None of the shops in my area sell it so unless I'm out and about I usually smoke Drum full strength. Once in a while I'll buy Auld Kendal or Samson. I don't really like straight cigs, they make me feel ill. Are loose tobaccos popular in the states then? Over here about 50% of smokers smoke 'em and about 90% of people I know. Cheaper, less chemicals and shit in them, tastier etc It's all about the rollies...
yeah, mostly just poor people or people who would be in some way considered "alternative" or "hip" smoke it. loose tobacco is taxed far, far less than tailormades in most of the US. some states tax cigarettes more than others, and smuggling between states for retail purposes is actually a pretty serious concern to law enforcement. its a bunch of bull. these days its around 5 bucks for a pack of camels in my state, if i'm not mistaken (its been a long time since i bought cigarettes) more than that for imports like players lights or dunhills or gauloise. cheap cigarettes are still like at least 3-4 bucks for just one pack. in some states its even higher. i've heard people whove traveled to other parts of the country tell me in some locations its as much as 8 bucks a pack. high quality rolling tobacco isnt very widely available in much of the US. most of what americans know of rolling tobacco is really nasty stuff you can get in nearly any gas station, like bugler, top, or kite. and americans on the whole prefer either light or at LEAST filtered cigarettes, and as such unfiltered cigarettes made with crummy tobacco and you have to actually make an effort to learn to roll cigarettes if you dont already know....people are lazy and dont like whats generally available, so mostly just poor people or people who want to look cool smoke ryo. some better tobaccos like drum, bali shag, american spirit, and some other higher quality tobaccos are available, but you generally have to go to a tobacconist to get most of these - at least around here. zigzag isnt too bad, either, and actually i like their menthol decently well, even though i hate virtually all menthol tobacco. i've heard gauloise makes a rolling tobacco available some places, too, and that its really good. but most of what is available anywhere at all is shit.
Johnny Depp is reknown for smoking it; typically with liquorice papers.. DRUM Original for me. What a smoke. And it's not too harsh for every day use, at all. Neither is it pipe tobacco.
Not very different from Drum. I only use it for the joints, not too harsh or strong so it still let you taste the weed/hash very well.
