Anyone ever fasted for whatever reason? Why? How long? I imagine it would be great to clean and clear the mind and body. Not that I wanna do it anytime soon but just curious.
i partake in a version of intermittent fasting, where i have an 8-10 (whichever i feel like) window on when i eat so my window starts at noon and goes to 8 or 10pm, after that, i don't eat until noon the next day when i have breakfast
2 different times each no food or drink for 7 days. Both started as stress related and by the 3rd day I was just not hungry no more, after 7 days I had to force myself to eat and drink, I had no sensation to do it. Hurt like hell to eat too in the guts, like everything was jump starting again.
My mum does it. I don't want to nor would she let me anyway. I remember my dad telling me about the time he did it - he said afterwards he ate so much our grandma wouldn't let him fast again.
Took in absolutely nothing, no water, juice, food, only air to breath. What is odd is I still had to pee but very little and freaky dark. I had thought of doing it again just to see if I could do an 8th day.
I used to do alot fo really stupid things. I had my reasons but I would let chics I knew dig thier nails into my arm until it bled until it reached a point that when they did it I could tune out the pain and hold a conversation while it was being done just to see if I could do it. Its amazing the crazy stupid shit you would do when you were told you had a limited clock time.
I thought you could only survive 3 days without water???? must have been another lie they told us in health class. :toetap05:
Actually fasting ( not for a whole day ) can be good. However , I'd tend to usually take protein drinks when I fast It can actually aid concentration is well as your body , I think
I think the longest I've gone was like 55 hours or so. It is rather nice, you feel great the day you start eating again.
An empty stomach can actually feel quite good. ...as long as your next meal aint coming from Bob Geldof ....
nope you can do it if your not trying to survive out in the open air in the woods. If you have a home, comfort and dont have to exert lots of effort its doable Japanese Man Hibernates Like Japanese Bear In an amazing show of endurance, a Japanese hiker survived for 24 days in cold weather without food and water in October 2006. He thinks he may have tripped and lost consciousness after leaving his fellow hikers. All he remembers lying in a field and falling asleep, then awaking to rescue more than three weeks later. Now back to the question at hand. How long can you go without water? Assuming you're in reasonable shape and in ideal conditions -- that is, not in the heat or cold and not exerting, a human can probably live for about 3 to 5 days without any water. Healthier humans can live another day or so longer. http://health.howstuffworks.com/live-without-food-and-water.htm/printable http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=4693690
