FAQ threads etc

Can I suggest something? The FAQs and info threads are grouped together in that one "PLEASE READ" but the last few months we've seen n00bs asking for the FAQ threads and we have to link them to that thread or the FAQ threads themselves.

The scary "READTHISORGETFLAMED" thread is a bit scary, so I'd like to suggest we sticky the FAQ threads, NP's thread and BCmama's thread to the front page. I like to look at them once in a while and I find it annoying to have to go to the annoying scary thread to find them (yes it's only one more click but still ^^)

So, sticky the useful threads, and we can keep the scary thread aswell just to store other useful threads, and to warn people that if they don't read the blatently obvious help threads they will be flamed

Anyone with me?

 

I'm down with this. It took me a couple of days to figure out that was the FAQ thread, I thought it was just about wax

 

I agree fully its a great idea.

 

I think the problem is the title, not the organization

They ask because people tell them to "read the FAQ," but the sticky's title does not say anything about it being a FAQ... confusion ensues

what if a sticky was made with all the links to diffrent questions asked. Everyone has diffrent views on ways to do it, I dont think any are wrong or right just diffrent depending on what you want and your lifestyle and of corse im sure hair type plays in it all

The FAQ that we have is pretty damn impressive, and while it does have a decidedly 'natural philosophy' to it, I find it to contain a good collection of the various ways that people fuck up their hairs trying to give themselves dreads instead of earning them

It wouldn't be 7 stickies, just 3, and delete all the other posts except for the actual info.

It is! But we need to delete all the other posts that clog up the thread.

Renaming is a good idea. I spose that's probably the best option if mods don't want to faff about ^^ Or make me a mod and I'll do it xD

 

why not have just ONE sticky at the top with the FAQ, wax, herbs, etc threads linked... no need for a 'what are you doing today?' and a 'chat' and 'tell us about yourself' stickies.

and don't delete the posts behind the FAQ if that's what you mean. the FAQ thread should remain open if any new (unlikely but possible) questions arise or problems with the FAQ can be addressed.

 

also, that's dumb. there's only one way to do it.

 

I just thought it would be easier for people to see if we had them separate.

Delete posts in the threads that are unecessary, only keep useful stuff.

I agree about all this, except... they need to learn to fucking read, if it says read before posting, they should read over it... they can see there's a faq if they just mouse over the thread title for a second, not EVEN click it.

 

I didn't know about the hover/preview thing for a month or two after I joined, not sure how many noobs know about it xD
