"faggot" is not a cool word...

i had a big fight (just verbal) with one of my friends today. we're both straight, but he is in the habit of calling guys he doesn't like "faggots." i think alot of straight guys do this. but that doesn't make it cool. so i told him i know how it feels to be put down (because i am morbidly obese), and that calling people names can sometimes cut like a knife. so its almost like a weapon. and more people need to think about that. so calling somebody a faggot is just plain ignorant. even if its not meant as an attack on gays. so he told me he would try his best to stop doing that around me. i know its not much. but we all have to start some where.

 

I think if you take words that seriously you're a fag. (Damn, I'm an asshole) Words are just words. If you get hurt by words, you are weak, and you need the pain to strengthen you.

Oh I almost forgot. It is not ignorant. Misusing the word ignorant is ignorant.

words really don't matter, however most people don't realize this. Alot of people think words matter (especially dumbasses) that is why if you walk into the ghetto saying ****** like crazy, you'll get your ass shot.
Same thing doesn't go for faggot. Most likely you will be fine if you walk into a mostly gay part of town saying faggot, saying ****** in the ghetto is completely different.
What does saying a word is "not cool" have to do with being a strong man? I am a strong man, I just don't think people should be so pussy and get their panties in a knot over words.
