alright I dunno if this is where I would put this but i had a pregnancy pain last night that I'm hoping maybe someone knows about or can explain to me. I woke up in the middle of the night to pee and when i got up my left side hurt like my muscle was being pulled to the limit. It lasted a few minutes then slowly died away. mom said it might just be because the baby was lying there before I woke up. Can anyone help me understand?
I used to get those all the time with Sasha. I think (not sure) that it is the weight of the baby and stretching muscles in your belly. It used to always happen to me as I was getting out of bed, or rolling over. I think that I was told that it has something to do with the effect that pregnancy has on all of your muscles. It makes them more stretchy and elastic like. Don't worry hun, it's normal. But if you find that it lasts longer than a while, and that the pain is getting worse, then definitly call the doc. Congrats on your pregnancy and blessings on your path into motherhood.
Sounds like Uterine Ligaments stretching. I had these will all my pregnancies, but especially the first one. If it feels like tightening or cramping, or if they feel "regular" you may be not noticing contractions, so talk to your doctor or midwife. Mention the pain to your HCP, too. It is most likely not a problem, though. How far along are you? Change positions, lie on your left side, make sure you get lots of fluid and a good diet. Take care, mama!
It sounds like round ligament pain to me too. Make sure when you get up you roll to your side and push yourself up with your arms slowly and gently! You can't get up like you're used to with a belly in front of you. Getting up too quickly or by using your abdominal muscles can put a strain on your belly.
I had a lot of ligament pain with my last pregnancy. I had to take a lot of extra care when getting out of bed. Get up slowly and carefully. Don't jump up quickly. Oh and congrats on the pregnancy! lenamarina, i love your sig pics! the one carrier you have looks like a mayawrap, but what is the other one. I love it! is it home made? kathy
oh yeah...30 weeks!!! your belly is going the full stretch right now so it definitely sounds like what everyone was describing...congratulatons and enjoy the weirdness!! if it drives you nutty and doesn't settle down always go and ask your midwife or doctor as they will be able to set your mind at rest about things.
30 weeks? Oh yeah, that does sound like round ligs. Please listen to Brighid about how to get up, it will make you more comforable, and you will be less likely to pull things. Make sure you also mention it to your doctor or midwife.
