"Hey Adam.... W-H-I-T-E..... That spells, "White". Kiddo just started spelling stuff all on his own. What's something exciting that happened to you lately?
my 6 year old got over his fear of bike riding yesterday, now he's unstoppable!!! best mothers day EVER!!
Hmmm, well, my oldest son (he's 9 and in the 3rd grade) is getting straight A's yet again. That kid is too smart for his own good sometimes. He's also taken to writing poetry lately and sure can write some impressive stuff! I'm so proud of him! My twins (who will be turning 6 years old at the end of this month) have decided to sign up for football and cheerleading. They're really excited, as am I! My boy gets fitted for his jersey this weekend. He's positively thrilled. My girl is chomping at the bit to see her uniform. She can hardly wait, that's all she keeps talking about, how cute she's going to look.
Tackle. I think it's going to be a great outlet for my boy. He's a little guy but solid and very aggressive. That kid can run at my oldest (who weighs 86 lbs.!) and knock him flat onto his butt. No lie. He's like a little freight train. He's also unfortunately had some problems with aggression at school this year, wants to play too rough with the kids and gets in trouble for it, which is to be expected. So I'm hoping maybe giving him an outlet where he can take that energy and use it in a positive way might help him out some. We'll see. He's got a pretty good arm on him too.
it definitely helped me when i was a kid. i needed an outlet for my aggression. many sports can do that. i got a car, which is pretty damn exciting to me.
Hell yeah. You have a license, right? KC, was the fear because you took the training wheels off, or did the bike thing just kinda creep 'em out? HCM, that's exciting shit. Hope my kids get good grades. Lord knows I really didn't. And thanks for sharing the bit about football. Been thinking about it for our oldest(he really likes football), but wasn't sure how young they started football programs. Boog, what's lyme disease? And I hope you're ok. We're getting married some day.
i've been driving since i was 16 haha and yea, they start a lot of sports, the basics around 4-5, and progress from there to more structured environments - really, the main key at that age and a little older is to get practicing the basic athletic movements (running, skipping, jumping, throwing, pushing, pulling, etc) while playing a fun game, rather than the focusing on the actual game concepts. then over time they'll grasp the concept of the game, be it football, basketball, baseball, soccer, swimming, and so on. without all the sports i played growing up, i'd have been much more of a trouble maker in school than i was,
I feel you. Between 9 and 15 I played soccer(2 yrs), baseball(2yrs), football(1yr), wrestled(1yr). And I was never in trouble or did drugs. 15 to graduation had to have been hell for my mom. Guess she should let me keep playing football....
Lately, well, nothing really... lately it's been a downward spiral for me... so I take it something much be coming up soon right?
im excited right now...in five hours ill be on the road to michigan. wut wut. nigga, playboy bunny rabbit.
That's what I figured. My boy is a good kid, a sweet kid, he's just got a lot of aggressiveness to him, and he doesn't take anything from anyone, despite his small size. Which has landed him in trouble at school more times than I care to recall. I know he's still pretty young yet, and he's got more maturing to do, but I think having a way to be who he is but put a positive spin on it can only do good for him. You know? Congrats on the car!
Yeah, I got good grades, an Honor Student, but I never made straight A's. I would miss it by one B every time. Ah well. The kid has lots of positive potential, he's got a drive to succeed, I can only hope that he stays that way! Football is open here for kids starting at 6 years old, and since mine are turning it at the end of this month, they just make it this year.
