This movie was sick. Typical of course in the sense that the people involved were IDIOTS (but if they weren't there'd be no movie).
was this movie just glorified gore? or deep strangely entertaining RAW horror??
i think special effects of todays movies take away that eerieness old movies have. that disturbing quality.

I'd have liked the Evil Dead series even more if they had been done in seriousness instead of tongue-in-cheek camp, but they're still good.

You have to admit, they did a great job picking that spooky-ass cabin, man!

Thanks -- I'm gonna watch that again on DVD when I get home! :p

hahha, you my friend must not watch a lot of horror flicks, if you did this movie would be alot funnier to you.

Ya gotta understand there is a bit of humor to these flicks, and as they progressed, the creators and actors got alot more comfortable and silly. By Evil Dead 2, they'd already spent like 6 years just goofing around playing with the same basic plot, Evil forces and a cabin. Evil Dead 2 is so ripe with sattire. I know that final scene, with lil' Knowby was intentfully cheesy.

Those movies, in my opinion, are the finest pieces of horror cinema out there.

god i dont know man, i remember cracking up alot when they'd just STAND THERE and be thrown about and attacked in such a slapsticky manner.
the laughing scenes were freaky. very hauting. i think my fave scene for some reason was when one of the chicks started going nuts n was all like "her EYYYYYYYESSSSS!!!! whats WRONG with them!??!?!?!?!??!?"

    very artsy.

ew the eye poking out shit was sick and all the white pukey stuff. when that bitch bit off her hand i gagged lol.

    Favorite scene?
I'd have to say that in Evil Dead, my favorite scene was when the girl went out into the forest 'cause she heard voices, and she got raped by the vines and branches of the trees... That was erotic in a creepy way... Or is that, creepy in an erotic way? Either way, it fed my latent masochistic fantasies (if I were a girl, anyway). :p

id have to say army of darkness is my favorite, my favorite scene would probably just be the huge battle between ash and the deadites, or when he gets to the graveyard and tries to get the necrinomicon, and all the skeletons pop up and start beatin the crap outta him:)

Not only that he is nice on the eyes!!!! Yummy
I love the visual joke in the second movie. After He cuts off his hand then he chases it around then covering it with a bucket notice whe he places a stack of books on top of the bucket the top one is A Farwell to Arms. Tooo Funny!!!!

I totally adore the evil dead movies...especially the first, that is an amazing film...

the second and third were good but i dont really like my gore with a twist of comedy in it sometimes...but i like braindead if anyone has seen that:)

thats gotta be one of the craziest films ever...anyone whos seen it knows what ime talking about hehe

I love the first evil dead though, its amazing, i rememebr sitting down when i was about 11 and watching it, i loved every second.

do you know how they got the pencil in ankle sound?? they used the sound of a pencil stabbing an apple:D
