I live in mediterrean climate so it gets stinking hot in summer a frosts in winter. I am looking for an evergreen creeper to grow on the mesh fence - it gets a fair bit of sun in summer time.I want privacy from the next door neighbours as I don't always like the people who live in thse flats.

I use Lady Banks roses on mine. They lose some foliage in extremely cold winters, but not all. And you get a sea of yellow blooms in early spring.

Trumpet vine gets pretty huge and is pretty hardy here.

look for a local vine that can help feed wildlife. living on the east coast of the us i have no idea what that might be but there should be some kind of wildlife group that can help you. or just check out your local nursery.
