end of the world...

i have read over a 100 different stories about how the world is going to end. I was just wondering if there was a theory that has consistent evidence and if it posisble.

 

what people come up with:

-sky falling on our heads
-return of Godzilla
-AGW burning us alive
-attack of an evil dictator
-terrorists
-communism taking over
-gay marriage
-people too lazy to work hard
-direct democracy
-democrats or republicans taking over
-too many immigrants
-out of work
-homeless
-freedom of speach
-sun not showing up any more
-the others winning

-deadly virus or other escaping from high security lab
-supervolcano
-asteroide/meteorite hit
-nuclear war
-generalized war
-solar storm, floods, earthquakes, drought/fire/meteorite/airplane/other crash on nuclear power plants, nuclear plants and economic crash/civil war/terrorism/other
-general degeneration
-wrong industrial agricultur: intoxication and loss of fertile ground
-population explosion: pollution, end of fossile fuels/wood/other
-financial crisis
-economic degeneration/recession/crash
-strong variations in solar and other astronomic activity
- attack by godzilla chicken
-attack of giant spider
-attack of ET
...

my uneducated guess would be that we eventualy run out of food and oxygen. but that isn´t the end of the world,just the end of a cycle and a new chance for our planet.

 

Nevermind the Mayan calendar.. although it just might coincide with this..

Has anyone here heard of the Hopi Prophecy?

It fortold of the white man coming to their land (and more).

I truly believe that when the Earth ends somthing cataclysmic is going to happen and were all going to die.

 

The Hopi people must have done pretty well if they used their pre-knowledge to invest in transport,railway,electricity and telecom business.

i´m sceptical about ancient prophecies....apparantly there were a dozen cultures that could predict the future but somehow the modern man can´t even predict next weeks weather.

 

Actually we used to be able to predict next weeks weather, until the weather models no longer worked....... Now they can't even get tomorrow correct, and we still pay those guys!
