So seems our society has reached a level of pure stupidity. When you call 911 you reach a voice mail service instead of a human. That when you enter a hospital with say a heart problem and instead of being concerned over the health and immediate danger of the problem the hospital is more worried about the insurance and paperwork.

Guess it all falls back to that song "911's a Joke" by Public Enemy, lol

I have been to the hospital with a serious heart problem before. I had to wait in the room first and then spent 15 minutes dealing with insurance. It's a wonder people don't die during that.

If you call 911 inside the city of Houston you'll get chewed out for calling them in the first place, and then it will literally take hours for the police to get there, even in a life-threatening emergency. Houston has a surplus of police that are either on some special program funded by the feds' 'war on drugs' or some other crap, or they're hanging out in restaurants refusing to answer their radios. As a result, many areas hire their own private county cops that you have to reach by calling their number instead of 911 (of course you have to know the number of each county constable dept.) It's a real mess.

Weren't there two instances recently about Detroit's 911? One was a kid calling because his mom was hurt (or dead, can't remember). They told him he would be in trouble for playing with 911. The other was a woman who was shot in the head but still conscious. They bitched her out saying if she was really shot in the head, she would be dead.

I think Public Enemy can be used as a focal point for any political rally for the next 100 years. [IMG]
