    I cannot recount the innumerable nights
    when the world did not respond
    To the tears and speech of my sorrow.
    Writing letters in the tattered black journal
    sketches smeared by acrylc
    an idle heart
    of vacummed emotions;
    story of a lonely life.
    Thats when the world did not respond.
    My mute companion!
    I cant feel you when hope is lost

    ----- i hate this poem, because its selfish, its self-pitying, and weakening.

    The world shouldn;t respond to a lonely girl's cry. it should respond to the famine and the rape and the disease that plagues this world. To those who suffer without cause, the injustices that occur day in and day out. When a man kills another man, thats when the world should respond in revolt

    your right on rafaela and you know it. but the world DOES respond, go to a forest next time your feeling down or feel like crying or something. if your open to whats there itll trip you right the fuck out. its very healing though. the world does care about you too and it will help you when you truely need it, i promise. you cant ask for a new car or something and expect heaven to reign gifts upon your front step, it doesnt work like that. i think something has plans for you though, just embrace everything and try follow your heart and be good... but its such a good question to be asking and your obviously going through new learning experiences, which is a realllllly good thing. even though it doesnt always seem that way. thats a big lesson to learn, to just be grateful.

    i agree- its not my favorite poem in the world either. but you shared it with us and opened yourself up to us, which is a beautiful thing. so many people in this world never truely open up to anything, not even their huband or wife. and you LEARNED something from this poem, and that is more valuable than any carefully arranged set of symbols. poems can be such beautiful expression though, and i think some people really have gifts for them, and you may very well be one of them. maybe we all are, i know ive written some stuff before and just wondered how the hell did that come through me, and i cant help but feel something is just working through me. but i think my poetry is stayin in the notebook for now.. i guess im not ready to open myself up to the world, and thats a huge sign of strength that you are. just dont expect the world to accept your very person kindly. and even if they pretend to, your still triggering something in them they dont like probably. your like a threat to them in some deformed way, in many ways probably. youll understand, all good things in all good time, peace to you for now.
