sounds cool. I tried dying my hair blonde from a dirty blonde....the color only stuck for like a week and then dissapeared into the lock. Weird. But maybe youll have better luck with a darker color.

from what ive seen of your hair its already dark, so i think u should just dye the tips.
unless in person your hair color is a lot lighter than it appears and u want it darker.

I agree^^your hair looks v. dark already! I'd only dye it if you have roots (bad roots like I had) vivid violet sounds good though:)

Violet would be nice. Ooooh, you could do raccoon stripes on a few too, but with violet. That would be awesome too!!

you will have to bleach it first, talk to amy about that one, she would be able to help, itll be slightly harder for you because from what ive noticed with people with black hair, when they bleach it after a while it turns yellow, but i think that would look cool, not the yello but the violet.

you can pretty much use any but youve got to be really careful with the times, except with vegetable dyes who dont really damage hair, and if youre using nice dyes dont use the conditioner!
I know its repetitive but I need to repeat be very careful with the time you leave the dye on many of my dreads ended up real dry after the bleaching, dye didnt do squat to them, they are almost back to normal know but it really worries

I wouldnt dye your hair. If you leave it alone, it will get all faded at the tips and look sweet

You sure you wanna try to bleach the black back out to dye the tips? Well good luck with that... have you ever tried bleaching black dye? Maybe different dyes have big differences between them. It's definitely not something I had a good experience with...

And also, the thing is if you did it the other way round, eg bleach your hair, dye the tips a nice colour, then try to do the rest black, it would surely be almost impossible stopping the black running down into the colour. Be easier to put felted coloured wool on the end or something.

barrier cream! use barrier cream.. the stuff that plumbers use

my hairdresser used it when i was having half blond done, and she put it on the brown side to stop the bleach running onto the brown and it wooooorked

Yeh obviously... I do that as well, using cream or vaseline.. but dyes keep on running through subsequent washes so you'd need it for a while maybe?
