Its a type of bedding/blanket, its a soft flat bag filled with down or feathers. just curious to know if anyone is using one or has heard of one... there so comfy and warm! i guess there more commonly known and used in europe, never heard of 'em till i went over seas.

I stayed in germany, switzerland, and france on a 3 month trip of traveling around the countries... my first time sleeping in one was in switzerland at some apartments i stayed at. then my friend in germany had some.

If u dont like making ur bed every morning, get one of these! haha screw sheets/blankets. also in the US, the word "duvet" usually refers to a "comforter cover" rather than the bag...

U can get some pretty sweet covers. i myself own a paisley designed one, and the feel of these things are awesome, poofy/light but are super warm. they carry all the regular sizes, twin, full/queen, king.

Nope, I much prefer my duvet to sheets. They have cotton coveres on and I usually shove a blanket over mine.

i know, i like the duvets better, but im talking about the bag being filled with feathers rather then synthetic material... atleast i think thats what drumminmama ment by sleeping under death meaning "feathers"...

True the feathers are more natural, but to be honest they aren't all that great. Tends to be either too thick or too thin, and all the feathers collect down at one end so you're forever shaking it.
Give me unnatural but oh so comfy hollowfibre any day..

reread raven's post. That is what happens (my son has a down duvet). all the down either clumps or works itsway out of the weave of the fabric.

been reading around, in alot of the reviews people prefer down over fiber. as long as theres baffle built in so the feathers stay put. this other lady says shes been under hollow for 8 years, then switched to down saying its much better and comfy. other people say, down in the winter, hollow in the summer. about the feathers workin there way out, did u buy a cheap one? whats the thread count. i guess they both have their ups and downs. fibre is good for people who have allergies? how does the hollow not shift around? i'd like to maybe get one of 'em for camping. :D i live out in the woods.

I love my duvet. It's holofibre. Sheets are too tangley for me.

Down duvets are wonderful, though silk duvets are also pretty wonderful too!

I absolutely love my down duvet (bought one of these 3 togs for the summer) and no-one can convince me there is anything better - although I did sleep under a silk filled duvet a couple of months ago and that too was nice. It had a similar feel to a microfibre duvet but I certainly didn't overheat under it.
