This country is becoming a police state. We have these check points where the pigs just pull over every car on the road to see if you are drunk. Fine don't drink and drive only an ass would get drunk and drive. However the police are out of hand anymore. They pull over every car and check out everything in it. They give out tickets for not having your seat belt on, for forgetting your drivers license anything they can come up with. All in the name of stopping drunk driving. This is bullshit. These pigs are just rousting people because they can get away with it. And the bleeding heart sheep in this country think this is a good thing. The last time I looked machine guns are against the law too. Will the pigs be pulling us over to check and see if we have a machine gun too ? Wake up people the pigs have to much power. They are to serve us not roust us. Peace
Illegal searches violate the 2nd amendment so they call them “safety checks” they are doing it for our own good to make sure we didn’t forget our set belt. Mmmm… Bullshit Our police have gotten to much power and they are out of control and corrupt. To serve and protect? No way beyond serving the public they are an out of control corrupt organization that the public can no longer control.
Last week a cop in the next county was on a stolen vehicle detail. He pulled over a pickup truck that was on the stolen list and the guy driving ran him over and dragged him for 4 blocks, obviously killing the cop. He was caught in a nearby apartment complex and arrested, jailed, and mysteriously died in his cell that night. Of course the cops, the sheriffs dept and the jail guards are all hiding behind their unions to get out of it. But that's not the part I wanted to tell you about. The funeral procession for the dead cop was yesterday, and to show solidarity there were over 450 police and fire vehicles in the procession that went from Laurel MD to Easton, MD. They came from as far away as Carrol County and Loudon County, VA, and even some Federal cops. They blocked interstate 95 and US 50 for over 50 miles. Late in the afternoon before a three day weekend. I don't begrudge anyone having a nice funeral (though I'd prefer you give it to me Viking style, just put me in my boat and light me up) but don't block up federal highways on the night before a holiday weekend when everyone is trying to get home. Better yet, don't jump out in front of an obviously stolen vehicle and flash a badge, dumbass...
This reminds me of my childhood in Brazil... CONSTANT checkpoints from military police with those old-fashioned machine guns. And the Brazilian military police are NO JOKE.
A lot of people are self-absorbed as long as they are comfortable and as long as their little world is safe they are happy and have a false sense of freedom. A lot of Americans will tell you they are the freer then anyone in the world… Just brainwashed by propaganda they receive in their safe comfortable little box. Most countries aren’t “free” but the U.S. is defiantly a police state by every definition of the phrase. I decided about 5 or 6 years ago that I was going to do everything I can not to support the corrupt police state. In my life the most I was supporting them was by driving a car, gas tax and feeding the road and oil system so I spent a lot of effort to modify my life to where I don’t need to drive a car. But the police system just keeps growing and growing every fucking year. We have more people pre capita incarcerated they any where in the world and it is still growing…. When will it stop?
Some high school girl on this forum from the southern U.S. said that when the teacher's exam paper disappeared, the teacher called in the VP and two police officers who threatened to search everyone if the paper didn't turn up. That's freaky. .
on the subject of the police screwing over the american people...I got a ticket in January, and the dumbass cop gave me a court date that was a holiday, so the courthouse was closed of course. They sent me a letter assigning me a new court date. In the meantime my license expired and I could not get it back until I paid the ticket in full, but I wasn't going to do that because I needed to dispute it. So then I get pulled over again, and it was a state trooper. She sees my newly expired license and clean record and decides to give me shit. She made me get in her car so she could lecture me and humiliate me for a half an hour. Then she threatened to tow my car. Let me remind you this is my FIRST ticket ever. She ended up giving me hundreds of dollars in tickets on top of my other one. Added it up and it was more than my rent and bills for one month. I then had to pay a lawyer five hundred dollars to go to court so they could throw a suspended license out that was a result of driving expired. What a bunch of bullshit for a citizen that works very hard and stays under the radar of the government. I guess they were just itchin' to trap a hippy and play with me a little then set me free. People fear the government now, and it was supposed to be for the people, by the people. Something needs to change
I agree with you folks... But on the other hand... A lot of idiots sure do drive drunk. I'm sure that everyone has that friend or acquaintance who died or was injured because of a drunk driver.
But even if they do have too much power and its off the chain, how do you even stop someting like that? Honestly.
That does not mean the pigs can act like the Gestapo and just check everybody. WTF this is America. But sadly the sheep that make up this country seem to want it to be this way. Go on and keep giving away your rights to the pigs. Soon they will be in your bedroom. Wait in many places they already are. Peace
Yes, the "sheep" do indeed give up their rights willingly. Welcome to America. A whole lot of good here too though...
You don't anyway. The problem is that prevention can only work up to a point. And that very important realization gets lost when people want 100% safety. See, 100% safety, funny enough, is much worse than 75% safety. There are consequences to too much safety that are worse than being unsafe.
I was riding my bike in front of my house when I was 8 and I got hit by a drunk driver. I had broken bones in my hand and that was it so I was lucky. My point is that I was in a subdivision in middle america. They never do checkpoints on sidestreets. It is usually at the point where highway meets interstate. Most drunks avoid those roads. Also, the "safety checks" are more prevalent the closer we get to a national holiday. They really should be more random if they are gonna do it. They should start getting the 9-5 drunks if they are gonna get anyone. Leave the holiday binge drinkers alone! No, just kidding. It isn't justified to me. We all think it is crap but what can we do? If it makes anyone feel better, I was with two friends on I-57 S in Illinois, and we were tokin a bit when we passed a state trooper changing his tire. When we got close we were lucky enough to watch him drop the trunk door on his head and then drop all his tools. I felt better after that, it was the day after the above court fiasco.
Yes like officer Dibble knocking on your door. And saying just checking to see if you are doing something wrong. It's the same thing when they can pull you over just to check you out for no reason. Welcome to Nazi land. Show me your papers. Peace
