define best.. hair dryer odviosly would be fastest..but still at least with my hair id be drying it for 4 or 5 hours thats alotta electric wasted..so best for me is just let em be the best is summer sinshine..but summers ending sotaking alot longer now
NOT TOWEL DRYING. shake your head and your good to go if you need them dried fast, blow dry. if not just let em be.
I think drying them completely is most important to prevent mold. I let mine air dry and they are fine. If you're short on time a hair dryer works great too.
I still use a towel lightly until it quicks dripping and then I let it air dry. I wouldn't use a hair dryer with my hair though because it's thin and will dry/burn it up.
1. Why no towels? 2. What if you just press the towel onto the dreads to absorb, but don't rub it around? 3. Can you use a shammy (chamois) to dry dreads?? If not why not?
Air Dry then give a blow dry for 5 minutes, then air dry! If they are still wet when I go to bed, I use the dryer again!
i use a towel it works fine. I also don't see why you can't use towels. I just try to ring the hair out in the towel and the press against my head for about 5 minutes I just do this trying to absorb all the moisture then air dry. I can totally saturate a towel with the water in my dreads. They take about 4-5 hours for the moisture to completely evaporate with the towel use. Use the sun when you can it really helps tighten them up.
i would like to try one of those shamwow things, i know its just a big chamois, but it has wow! at the end.
Read some online reviews for those things. I looked at them, and about 50% of them are bad reviews. BUT! I noticed a pattern that most of the bad reviews came from people who couldn't seem to follow the directions. YMMV Anyone else ever use a chmaois of their dreads?
