    Howdy!
Since some folks care so little about my position on drunk driving that they are spamming another unrelated thread to death long after I have stepped out, I figure we can do it here.

Let's rap on the morality, hombres!
My position is that it is morally reprehensible and pretty much bluntly 'wrong' in every sense to pilot a few tons of metal if you are impaired; be it by booze or drugs or anything else.
Not that drinking, drugs, and all that good stuff is wrong. They're great. And there's a million ways not to risk other people's lives while enjoying them.

(And yes some people drive when they're too tired or text/eat/shave when they drive, and that is pretty scummy too - but one ridiculous moral dilemma at a time!)

Now, here's the challenge - have this thing carry on without making very clever and original internet tough guy insults!

I'm not for it, but I've done it. When I was younger I never thought I would, I hated it, but since I joined the army it seems so natural. Seriously, everyone I know has driven drunk at one point or another in the past 3 months.

I don't feel like delving into morality, because that is a subjective matter and I am not standing on a Pulpit anytime soon.

however, my issue with you is the self righteous manner in which you attacked my intelligence, ethics, and general human nature based on a post about drinking 3 beers and driving to the store to purchase more.

so let us not twist the issue here, Reverend.

On drinking and driving I totally agree.

The rest though... Unless you wish to make it that it is illegal to take any type of medication or stimulant while driving, you are wasting your time. That includes things that are as innocent as coffee or other caffiene beverages.

This may seem like I am being over the top, but I have seen people act worse after a couple of cups of coffee, or other such drinks then after they drink a couple of beer.

So, my question back to you, is where do you draw the line between what it acceptable and what isn't.

I know I have. but not seething with that degree of self righteousness, or over a behavior that is both now a social standard and legal.

I used to drive drunk all the time. lol I would go to the mall everyday and drive around in the parking lot while I drank 2-3 40oz Colt 45's and blaring some music, then I would drive home. Twas fun:D

I've also driven on LSD and xanax while I was smoking a blunt. hahaha That was pretty fun:tongue:

oh Xanax, benadryl, legal opiates, etc. I'm sure those are less reprehensible to the good Reverend

Exactly the point of the thread - it becomes a fuzzy line; but which way do we lean? Say 'well, eight people out of ten are messed up somehow so just let it all fly' or go to the other extreme? That's why I'm focusing only on the booze component; as there really is no answer to the larger 'driving when in any way impaired' question save for a constantly wavering line based on scattered scientific evidence and wherever the social morality line happens to be.

Thanks for bringing it up....I once drove on 31 Benadryls. Admittedly, that was pretty irresponsible. lol I shouldn't have done that.

If you're done trying to troll me, read my last post :)
As far as what your posts have been seething with; I've seen you go from standard 'lol no life' to slightly more experimental 'sex with your mother' to obligatory 'i am more important IRL!'...so I'd say we're more or less even.

well, I was insinuating that you haven't left the womb. wait, who brought up sex with your mother here? 0.o

and at first I brushed you off as a 'lol no life', then realized you have a level of intelligence that I would have to match through my own witty composition. so, even perhaps.

I skimmed, saw something about my head, and mom's vag, and took a guess at the overall gist. Seems I zigged when I should have zagged...

    Anyway, even it is.

No worries, I learned to be a prick from a menagerie of political function wanks, a brief run of catholic school nonsensery, and way too much MST3K installing a permanently dickheaded inner monologue...so it's cool, dude.

hahaha That's the best way to do it. lol

Anyway....about drunk driving......it's subjective. It all depends on what an individual considers to be "drunk driving". One person may define drunk driving as driving after one or two beers, regardless of tolerance. Another person may consider drunk driving as driving while severly intoxicated. We all have different definitions of "drunk driving", and I think it's pointless to argue about it.
