Drum Circle

I would looooove to go to one or be a part of one! :biggrin:

I've been meaning to buy bongo drums for a few years now, so I think it's about time!

That video does look pretty awesome.
Ive got a set of bongos and a few of my buddies do. Well they have congas and diffrent persussion insterments. We always go campin and just sit around the fire playing, its fun as hell.

 

their was a pretty crazy drum circle in the lot of the dead concert...i hung out there for a few minutes seeing if anyone and some acid haha...if i had a drum i would have stayed a lot longer, it was really cool

 

Being a man in a drum circle for some reason I feel I should be wearing a bear skin or something like that. Genetic Memory I guess.

I used to do drumline in High School. Then later on played on a regular set, but I never kept it up after school. Still hard to believe I have not hit a drum to play music in like 20 years.

 

Drum circles are amazing.. i have been part of many.. i own a Djembe with a 12" head.. there is definitely a mystical energy that fills you when a drum circle is happening..

 

their is a local community/commune type thing that puts on a drum circle twice a month, and some frineds of mine are trying to get a weekly one started at our city's park...drum circles are incredible, i love feeling the complex rhythms as i dance...god how can you sit still to such a thing...the last one i went to, my friends hooped, and eventually i got off my stoned ass to hoop too lol

fuzz there has to be a group that does one near you

 

i like playing with fire at drum circles.. i got myself a set of fire flower sticks

 

what are fire flower sticks?

 

Flower Stick with wicks at each end that you light on fire..



sorta like Devil sticks.. except they have "flowers" on each end

 

oh cool...yeah a lot of time people will do fire poi at these things...fuckin crazy...playin with fire LITERALLY

 

yup... i love fire poi... just was never good at poi myself.. didn't have the patients to learn.. yet i've been playing with sticks since junior high

The festival last night was basically a huge drum circle because the license ran out at 12 so all the music stopped but the festival kept going...loads of people with djembes, didgeridoos and guitars..I wish id brought my djembe with me but it was still fun as fuck dancing to it whenever theres a drum circle around here I go and iv been to a few tripping which was really intense but loads of fun too
